    Cabin-in-a-cabin in Trabuco torching up now. One other structure lost reported earlier. Edit: Lost the back deck, looks like the main structure was saved.

    Though there is always a "chance" of an accidental cause, I'll bet, once again, this is some jackass arsonist.

    Please tell me there is a security camera capturing all traffic in and out of Trabuco Canyon....

    News just said it's up near 1000 acres now. :eek:

    Fire has jumped Main Divide.

    A Ranger interviewed said that the area burning hasn't burned in a long time.

    The fire is up to 1000+ acres. USFS is in command of the incident.

    Mandatory Evacuations are in place for the following areas: Holy Jim Cyn, Trabuco Cyn Rec Residence Tract, Blue Jay and Falcon Campground. It is still burning away from Orange County.

    those pics show that all the upper reaches of trabuco canyon have burned. That old growth bigcone douglas fir forest...gone. May never recover as that is likely a remnant population from a cooler wetter times. Bell ridge, Yeager mesa, west horsethief, trabuco trail...sigh. I am at a loss for words.

    True, I suppose usually arsonists like to start one at the edge of a wilderness area like the side of a highway or something so they can get away fast, not right in the heart of it on near a rough dirt road. But who knows how crazy people think.
