See a column of smoke.
Oh Holy Jim is. Sorry friends.
Growing quickly from the looks of that cloud.
2pm: 50+ acres. Trabuco Canyon approx 1/2 mile above the junction of Trabuco/Holy Jim Cyns. Well established in vegetation.
Weren't you and J burning it up yesterday morning??? Bad taste, I know, but it was irresistible.
This no bueno, I hope they get a handle on it quickly.
Hope they can get it knocked down fast!
They were smokin something gettin up that early. Fingers crossed.
Uhh not good.
Flames easily visible from Portola Hills @ 5 miles away. Looks like Bell Ridge?
a little better position now... It's the Jim side of the canyon.
AKA Cadillac area?
Winds are light right now, but lots of fuel. Curious as to whether they're doing backfires or if the fire has naturally advanced to that ridge.
No... I'm sure mike's report is the most accurate. Farther up the canyon... Trabuco/Jim area
Flames just got a lot more visible...
Just saw the smoke plume on my way home. Looks bad.
Easily visible from the Spectrum and Like Forest. OCFA now says 100 acres.
Supposedly above the Trabuco/HJ split, toward Main Divide.
The Cal Fire page is listing one structure lost. Farthest cabin?
Hopefully it was an error. Hoping.
There’s a pic from the peak on OCfirewatch Twitter. It’s on the ridge between holy jim drainage and trabuco canyon proper.
Not looking good. From the new Santiago Peak cams I told you all about.
Live Stream from that cam:
Thanks for the reminder about the new peak cams...
Edit: We all had the same idea.
From Joanna Hubble:
The fire is currently over 100 acres and is burning away from Orange County towards Riverside County with very little wind. There are 10 fixed wing aircraft on the fire now. The US Forest Service is the lead on this fire and you can follow them on twitter for updates if you like.
Thanks for all the updates and info, everyone.
Channel 5 is showing what looks like a burning cabin/house just below a large palm tree
Where did you find this?
This would be kinda scary. On bikes we could maybe cover ground faster.
#HolyFire (Orange Co) - Unknown number of hikers reportedly have their egress cut off by fire but were walking away from it further up the track. Copters searching the area for them, caller had very bad phone reception.
Hikers located, Holy Fire 700+ acres, new fire in Temescal, Terra Fire 30+ acres
