For all my singlespeed brothers and sisters...

Nov 2 is International Singlespeed Day so get out there and ride. Leave all those extra cogs behind and that mechanical thing hanging off your chainstays and go pure. One is ALL you need!

1 day to celebrate, 364 days to always ride in the wrong gear

I'm gonna ride on this day on my geared bike (that's all I have) but I vow to keep it in one gear only, just for this special day.

Not sure you SS guys would make proper use of a 3 day weekend, seems like you can only handle one big day at a time :whistling:

He started off strong in Laguna, but I heard a lot of "click, click, click" later on.

I thought it was today, so I rode it up Brown Mountain. I got photobombed by a geared bike at the saddle.

Rode the singlespeed yesterday after work. Nothing special just a standard after work ride. Got no pictures (as is normal for me) but at least I got out and celebrated a made up day by one of the greatest handmade component builders in mtb history. https://www.paulcomp.com/

I did not ride mine yesterday. I did my part and tried to bring another non-believer into the fold.

If @DangerDirtyD rode one a few more times, he'd be a beast.

It's not that I'm a non-believer, I'm a non-practitioner. A SS in my quiver is not out of the question, but it will have to wait a while. Did you check the PSI in the rear tire? I'm wondering if I burped it at the end of the ride. Maybe it was just the sidewalls flexing from by weight, but something felt like jello for a second back there.

I think that's a feature of the ARC rims. :p

19 pounds on the gauge. You lost a couple PSI, but nothing horrible.

I am impressed with the 2.4 Rekon in the rear for traction and bash-ability. The 2.6 Rekon in the front never slipped, but I was a little nervous putting it to the test after being used to the predictability of the DHF, plus your cockpit was farther out in front Of the bike than what I’m used to, so there were lots of variables there. Still, Maxxis Rekons are on my list of tire options moving forward.

BTW, I gotta give a shout out to Faustie for providing a bike that was dialed to my specifications. He increased the psi a little on the tires in anticipation of my [heft], he had lights mounted, he had tools mounted, and he had two water bottle cages ready to rock and roll.

You received the platinum level concierge package. Trust me... I heard about it from the guy behind me on the way up. He only had the silver level service, which didn't even include air in the tires, or the complimentary breathing coach.

Hahaha! Poor @Luis ! He was left to fend for himself while I had one-on-one coaching up the trail. I must admit I wouldn’t have made it as far as I did without stopping if I didn’t have the peer pressure behind me.
