I had a 1969 shortbed Ranger. 360 CID with 3 on the tree. The motor sucked. The oil pump died three times in a row. It was geared too low. But it did make it from SLC to San Diego. Barely.

The only Ford truck I'd be happy to own is a Raptor.

I really don't have any need for a full sized truck. I used to be an "All Dodge, all the time" kind of guy but I was least impressed with their offerings of the big three at the Auto Show this year. The Fords were nice and they always are but this year, it was the Chevy/GM trucks that caught my eye the most. Interiors, especially quality of materials used, are important to me since a driver is spending so much time inside a vehicle. Chevy/GM is much improved where interiors are concerned.

 

Dodge - Ram - c'mon, pick one. You can't do both!

 

It wasn't always that way, only in recent times was the brand name change made. I have owned two of the now discon'd Dodge Dakotas, though and I wish they would bring them back. For those who didn't already know, a V8 motor in a truck that size was loads of fun.

 

I just noticed my '01 F-350 with a 7.3L just tripped 323K.......might be time to change the wiper blades.....

I thought a 6.0 Norstar diesel would make my '07 4x4 Ford van bulletproof, but all it did was burn up the dual batteries and break on road trips (3x). Our Corolla did what that van couldn't. After the last $2300 repair, my mechanic suggested I get out of it while I could. Adios for the last time, Ford. All Toyota and happy now.

 

Loved my 76 350 short bed Chevy C10 with 4 on the floor (1st was the creeper). Drove it down from Wa in 2002 no problems. Hate CA smog laws at the time didnt have the $$ and time to rebuilt or swap engine so it would pass smog.. Sold it.. Have a 99 F150 (V8) hate it.. but it was free.. beside all the repairs the only thing I like is that I carry my bike in it..

 

Toyota is good too especially the 4Runner

 

Those are great trucks! My dad has one, yes they're loads of fun with a V8.

Sometimes I feel if I chained to a tree and pulled, it will stop the earth's rotation.
Love that truck!

 

Its a tinny , plastic piece of junk on the inside. I spent too much time in one at the Auto Show. Yuck.
