Mt. Abel is a 9 mile road climb to get to a very short, very steep brake burner. Think of a playground slide. Mt. Abel is great if you shuttle and are a DH’er warming up for Red Bull. :coffee:

HOWEVER… Frazier Mountain has an interesting brake burner down into Hungry Valley. Trails 120 and 121. @Voodoo Tom and I know all about them!
Trail 120
Trail120
Trail 121
Looks like there are more than a few trails up there.
I was looking at the Mt. Pinos loop.
I want to see if there is a trail from Fort Tejon (grapvine peak) to the bottom of the grapevine (wheeler ridge).
If you are going south on the 5 fwy from Wheeler ridge there is a really fun looking trail/fire road on the left side.

Not too surprising. When was the last time you saw someone on a GT?
I think the last time I saw one was at Performance and they went away what? 8 years ago?
What will Hans Rey ride now?

Man, that press release quoted was such a word salad with no meaning.
If you liquidate everything, and don't develop anything - how do you focus on your core?
Would one just navel gaze?

So sad, I grew up riding the Santa Ana made GT’s. I had a pitbike, Performer and my first mtb was a GT Timberline, it was a 86 model. My last one was a 90’s RTS. But Gary Turner bicycles is still making BMX bikes if you want a Turner made GT. www.Gt1972.com

E-Bikes making friends (not speaking to our crew)

I live in Beach Town... I see Sauron on the beach path plus 73 wheelie dudes all the time

Ohh and 73, if you live in Orange county around a school, literally hundreds of them

All that said, I think we're breeding a new generation of z games based on e-bikes... There's some serious skill out there and speed and they're fearless

Continuing the story.

Today 2 HB Cops Seeing and Being See on HB Beach Bike path...

Specifically geared towards saurons and other high-speed e-bikes.

I stopped and chatted. There was a a group of about 10 Sauron headed their way earlier.

The older cop was A multi striper and And he said "they're out of control" .

Course the kids saw them turned around they didn't get to "catch" then.

I said I was a knucklehead when I was that age...

But I didn't have a 200 lb 30 mph e motorcycle to ride along the beach path .. I had a cruiser bike.

He nodded.... We both agreed somebody's going to get hurt.

He also said they're not all kids.... Interesting.

But they're starting to make a presence ..
Stay tuned

I think I saw one of the police trucks pulled up along the walk/bike path this morning as I drove South.
I also saw a big group of kids on those 26” bmx bikes riding along on their way to the path. Kinda like those big bmx kids more than any of the kids or adults on e-bikes.

Oh, I've seen that crew many times. They're from Costa Mesa pretty sure.

They are multi-generational and very cool. Yes occasionally they do wheelies but that's okay. :)

I've ridden with them mixed in with them a few times.

Hung out with the dads at the back... :)

There's also a BMX trick Crew which used to be Tuesday nights like clockwork I think it was. I don't see them as much anymore.

Yeah, that's a whole different ball game than 10. Surons weaving in and out.

Or the hyped up 73s with kids full on Wheeling through the crowd!
