This song was in high rotation on my turnable... that opening is soooooo perfect! My dad used to be a square dance caller, so he had a great set of tools, er, I mean a full PA system. So I had that set up in my room.

Luckily, I already have ALL of their albums on my Google Play account. So...I just put that on random for my ride last night.

I am probably a bit odd in that my favorite segment of their career was the 80's; starting with Signals and ending with Hold Your Fire. Of course, Permanent Waves has one of my favorite songs (Natural Science), and Moving Pictures is amazing to listen to from start to finish on worn out vinyl (not the same digital).

 

I started with Moving Pics, as one does, but yeah, I am a child of the 80's. So Signals, Grace, Windows. But I dug pretty deep into their back catalog, and love it!

If you haven't, go and watch Time Stand Still tonight! I cried.

Nope! I'm right in there with you! We would buy tickets to all their shows in Los Angels back to back nights. We even set up trivia questions to ask on the way down through traffic.

My first Rush concert was the 2112 Tour in 1976 and worked backwards to the original Rush album with John Rutsey. They had me until Roll the Bones. After that I think it was Counterparts and that lost me...
Counterparts, Test for Echo, Vapor Trails, Snakes and Arrows, and Clockwork Angels just all started to sound the same with some minor nuggets in there. I missed the Farewell to Kings, and Hemisphere Tours, but latched back on for everything from Permanent Waves through Roll the Bones! Favorite release is probably errrrr, tough one! I'm going to say Permanent Waves and Moving Pictures.

Silver lining is all the time spent and memories made with my wife and kids. I’ll be back to mediocrity soon enough.
