I have been in business for myself most of my life accept for Northrop Grumman.

Either it was cutting grass as Reliable Lawn Service, Screen Printing T-Shirts, Hats, and Jackets as Silk Screens West, or building custom homes as Watson Brothers Construction... I just can't seem to shake that Entrepreneur gene in my damn DNA! Each one of those businesses I started on a shoestring budget and then eventually sold them as I looked at the next adventure. Well, accept for Watson Brothers Construction which came crashing down back in 2008! But what didn't back then??

So now, I am starting imtbgear.
A primarily online mountain bike essentials retail store. Crazy huh? Why would a guy open a store to compete with JensonUSA or Amazon? Because it's there. Why would an ARCO AMPM open up right next to a Vons or Stater Brothers? Why does In and Out do amazing right next door to a Carls Jr.? Because of concept and user profile.

Simple menu, and convenience.

The goal of imtbgear is to carry the fundamentals of mountain biking. In fact, that's the motto:
"All the things you need, none of the stuff you don't"

Tires, Tubes, Tire Sealant, Chain Lube, Brake Pads... all the stuff we wear out on our steeds of speed and buy on a regular basis. Just like, your corner convenient store.

Now the store is opening only with Tailwind Nutrition right now, but as I develop relationships with the wholesale vendors the goal is to carry those things mentioned above. You can already see the categories are frame worked in the site, and the product is actually there, you just can't see it right now...

I appreciate any support but I am not expecting it. On the trail, we are mountain bikers first, so don't get weird on me if you don't buy from me. I... like anyone wants to earn peoples business. It has to make sense for all involved.

I was about to but the finance professional in me said no to the additional 16.53% shipping versus the Amazon Prime I already pay for. Hopefully I’ll be able to find some stuff not on the big A that I can swipe from it though. Cool concept for the target group!

Shipping on a $35.99 50 scoop bag of Tailwind has a shipping cost of I'm assuming $5.95 which is cheaper than JensonUSA but not cheaper then Amazon Prime, which you pay for separately to get the benefit of free shipping. Also remember that any order of $50 dollars and up for a California Resident gets you free shipping on imtbgear with no membership fee. Plus, I am going to offer free shipping on any order where we have arranged to meet at a Trailhead to ride together. Now that is customer service!

Your shipping is cheaper than getting from Tailwind....I believe they charge 7.99 under $100 order.

 

Sorry if my post came off wrong, I actually missed the free shipping over $50 part (Work gets in the way of my online fun sometimes). We order crap off of Prime weekly and stream from it so it pays off. That being said I made my order over $50 to make it worth it for me, problem solved! Got me some mandarin and lemon TW.

Let me know when you start selling baby related items too.

Nooooooo.... but, I was thinking of carrying the invention that @SnakeCharmer and I were inventing, the P.E.M.P. (Personal Electro Magnetic Pulse) Generator.
This device would temporarily disable the "e" in eBike useless...

I hear what you're saying about serial entrepreneuring ( probably not a word.) My dad's been building and selling buisnesses since he was 16. His current collab is designing and hand making "saftey gear," with my brother.

 

Hopefully I can order without registering. The sight says any one of the three passwords I've used for the past 20 years is too weak. I don't write my passwords down and I'm too old to remember a 12 character password.
