Got out today for two Luge Laps. Started from Cooks around 930. Lot was full, with cars waiting for spots. STT (in my opinion) was in primo shape. Only bad part was in the shade just before the downhill to the flag. The Luge itself was dialed as well. A little slippery mud near the top in the shade. And someone built up the lip on the 2nd table top that is real close to the bottom. Kinda strange, if you hit at speed you could almost land in the corner that follows it. Still fun no matter. Good to see water at the bottom. Saw more hikers on STT than riders, that seemed strange. Great day to ride my bike.

The devinci at the bottom of the luge yesterday. Good conditions, but a bit middy on the first half.

Glad to finally be able to post something here, getting back on a bike felt great.

First ride on my Pedälhead in 29+ mode, and what a perfect ride for it. The weez and I loped up the bike path to North Table Mountain. I thought Rocky Road Trail was a good bet, seeing it was all on SW aspects.

    IMG_1864.jpg

Snow conditions for my 2.8/3 inch setup were phenomenal. I was able to motor up the snow-packed fire road and snow-covered ST with ease. The 2.8 would not break loose, even with too much air pressure. The climbing grades were NTB and the ST was partially tracked out. We got to the short but stout DH in great spirits (and not too much mud, which would change).

The DH goods on Rocky Road are, surprise, toothy rock outcrops a la Chiquito, which take some finesse to negotiate on the narrow trail. Snow coverage and occasional mud made it a new challenge, one that my big tires just ate up. The weazl's 2.6s were hanging in there big time. Before the mud...

    After the mud...

Successful re-entry mission with an epic bike cleanup to boot. AYE :cool::geek:

Nice return romp! You have me wondering what I could fit in the Lizard... Hmmmm...

If you were down here, you'd get to wash your bike after every foray into the mountains this year. I've got it down to a science. :D

Back on the trails, first time since like forever. Or that is what felt like !

LCWP was open, El Moro (or at least parts of it) was not. Entered from Ridge Park. The fire road towards Fenceline was BUMPY! I suppose they will flatten it. Fenceline / Missing Link itself was fine. A few wet spots, that is all. The rock was a bit more exposed in some places. Then Bommer Ridge to Boat Trail to the Boat trail lookout point and then back. Boat Trail was rutted pretty badly in a few spots. I had to HAB once on my way back. Saw lots of people out, especially for a Sunday afternoon it was a lot. Beautiful day, so good to be back on the bike. The canyons were pretty.

After seeing all the snow pics I again wanted to get a snow ride in before it's gone. Rolled the dice hoping there would still be some. Yep , in abundance. Maple to the Peak was the plan. Started seeing patches off to the side before was off the pavement. Before you know it, long patches here and there covering the FR. This would be the theme all the way to the Peak. Slushy in spots, packed in others.

Some areas in the sunlight had dry hard packed dirt. Closer to the Peak, several small streams ran down path. Up top some HAB was had. Snow was soft.

LCWP .... Interesting... Drop in from ridge they already smoothed a bit, but pretty much all the diagonally fire roads pretty rutty Lizards so/so the Rocks looks like dental implants with receding gums ... Someone going to take a spill there OTOH TnA was pretty good!

My last boat was a Prijon T-Slalom. Probably wouldn't fit in there! I think it was 12'. Ironically, regulations at the time required a competitive slalom kayak to be 13', I think. So my boat was properly misnamed. Seems regulations have been dropped to about 11' now (350cm), for those about to go compete in whitewater slalom!

I woke up this morning with a headache. I had a bunch of bike work to do in the garage. By noon, I had pretty much given up on whether I would get a ride in. Well I had just finished lunch and got a call from @cajun about heading over to the Oaks. So full stomach and all, I headed out.

Nice casual pace up Oak to the top, then headed out to Weir Canyon. Still a fair amount of mud out there....ruts galore. Brush starting to overtake the trail in spots....it's gonna be back this year. Probably gonna be a bad tick year.....be diligent. Lots of hikers out in Weir Canyon....including the oblivious lady on the side of the trail, that had here dog 25' away on the otherside of the trail on a nearly invisible retractable leash....yeah, that was safe. o_O

Slow climb up Deer, a fun run down Barham Ridge and a fast run down Goat.

Good to get out. Fun times.

Initial plans to ride Sycamore got thwarted so another trip to Norway and a new trail called Hidden Treasure. I wish there was an easier way to get to them. They'd make a fun loop after work.

Quick lap of the local woods and bike paths this morning whilst the weathers so god damn good. Crazy to think this time last year we were under snow and struggling to get the car out of our street. This year I'm riding in shorts and t-shirt and the daffodils are coming out!

Supposed to be even hotter tomorrow. I'll be heading back out for sure

I was thinking of you when the wife and I passed the RSM lake, and I could still see snow on the last couple turns under the peak! I had a feeling you'd be up there.

Did Skyline out in Corona on Saturday for my first time with the homie Dino Brown, The Trail Slayer, Kimmi, Bobbi, Pete,Gabriel @Grego @BeckTrex @Grassblade23 @SiriusStargazer. Wore too many layers, expected it to be colder but got warm pretty fast. Rode to top and then some went to Diablo trail and the rest of us older folks went to the Doppler. Had fun at beeks place having snow fights
