    I rode 53 miles and 4100 feet!

But... It took me 3 days of hitting the local loop on quick rides from the house. I'm starting to feel like "he who does not like to climb". ;)

I rode my bike last night with t-2 and redwoods . We left nothing but dust behind. It was fast and fun!
I broke a spoke on my Easton carbons, broke the clutch spring in my xt shadow derailleur and need a rear shock rebuild.
Life is good, I have a backup.

I TRIED to ride my bike today. I pulled a rookie move and thought I had the front wheel tubeles when I forgotv that I got a flat a couple of weeks ago. So when I got a flat today for no apparent reason and my buddy did not have a tube either. I had to do the walk of shame and hoof it 2 miles back towards the trailhead while Eric went nad got his vehicle for the last two miles... Yeah, after years of riding I had to do the "Walk of Shame" which is my next theme post to thread on...

I introduced a 40 yr old newbie to the sport tonight, He was a natural. 2006 Reign. Grinning, hootin' and hollerin' on any twisty singletrack we could find. Hard to beat these stats - 6 miles, 483 ft. climbed, 1 billion smiles.

Hey guys, that looks like my favorite kind of stuff! Love that kind of terrain! Fast and flow-y, and easy to see what's coming at speed, because it's not overgrown with PO or whatever. Please take me along next time?

Today...4 climbs, 4 descents on my local trails. Some days I feel "on it" on the downs, other times, not so much. Today was an "on" day. Lots of fun even though the hardest trail I hit was 5 Oaks. I believe I managed an estimated 3000' of steep, painful, Aliso climbing. Bike was running well. The recent fork service by BikeCo is spot-on. Beautiful day, with several beautiful specimens jogging the trails!

    That is all.

I finally managed a training ride today. Started at GMR/Sierra Madre, then up Lower Monroe Truck Trail (first time up that trail, it is a BLAST), then GRR to Mt Baldy Village. And back, of course. 41 miles, 5,400 feet. All in all a good day on the bike.

It seems like we all got out there today! :) I couldn't decide where to go, but eventually settled on Blackstar- Sierra Peak with some extra credit down Cole Canyon to the dead end past the rock pile. Just shy of 30 miles and 4800 feet. We'll see how next weekend goes with 25/6,000.

There were more hikers than usual on the lower section... I passed probably 75 people on the way up and on the way out. It looked like Whiting numbers out there...

I also saw two mountain bikers with a dog off leash coming down when I was headed up still... Not cool with all the recent troubles.

Went out yesterday evening to Sickamore cyn with my son and a friend. We ended up putting in about 14 miles and 1000' of climb, they were running low on energy so we called it quits early. Was a warm day so it was nice when the sun went down and we broke out the lights.
My son and I have a ride planned for Wed that I am really excited to do. We will climb Loch Leven then do the Post Office loop and then depending on how he feels we will hit the SART down or return down Loch Leven. Should be a good day with Lunch at The Oaks, one of his favorite places to eat.

There are many trails out there, lots of short climbs and short downhills with a few long climbs. I run a similar loop with small variations each time out so I can get some miles in without duplicating to many trails. We have a group ride every other Sat which does around 11 miles.

I rode my bike yesterday and today.

Saturday: Ride with my wife....ladies choice and she wanted to ride Blackstar to Sierra Peak. Sweet, works for me I thought. Drove out there with her, did the ride out to Sierra Peak and back to the car with her. Loaded her bike up and sent her on her way. I ended up riding Santiago Canyon back out to Irvine Park and Santiago Oaks for some extra credit before heading home...and only because it was too warm to continue on, and I wanted to eat lunch. Ended at 51 miles/5600'.

Sunday: Solo ride to get my weekly mileage goal in. I needed to get 23 miles to meet the goal. Rolled out just before sunrise, Oaks to Santiago Cyn Rd to Blackstar to Sierra Peak to Coal Cyn to Weir Cyn to Oaks. Early start to avoid the heat like yesterday.....instead it was foggy, damp and pretty cold. It would heat up later. Got my 23 miles just before I got to Sierra Peak. Ended at 58 miles/6500'.

Matched my biggest week ever.....211 miles / 27,000' climbing

    Good weekend on the bike.

Jajaja hey HB yes you missed something from a month ago probably, in my avatar/profile pic I'm showing off the cut I suffered from a stupid fall from my part, and mikie sugested that chicks digs scars and maybe saying something diff. instead of you falling from the bike, like having a scuffle with a mountain lion, so I rode floop a week ago and had another slidding on loose dirt and hit the same spot, like bullseye on the scar, which is was barely healed and... f*ck it peeled again, but its almost good AGAIN ....[emoji22] [emoji22]
