@George and I rode around Kenneth Hahn Park. Lots of hikers out, but the hero dirt made it worth it. 8mi 1200'

Wasn't feeling a big ride today....so the plan was to head out in search of snow.

While it was cool when we started from the Tree Farm, the temps weren't too bad heading up Silverado. Over the gate at Maple Springs and begin the climb up. So much better when the gate is closed.

I was overdressed at this point. I had dressed for the 25* temps at the Peak. While we weren't fast going up Maple Springs, it went by in not too much time. Was happy as we got towards 4 Corners and the temps came back down. Lots of bikes out. Passed a few ebikes on the way up....the road was closed to motorized vehicles, don't know why they thought they were special.

Ran into a couple guys I knew at 4C. They had just come down from the Peak. Asked how far up for snow...he said most of the way up...and it was cold. So we settled on just going out to Modjeska Peak. We bottomed out at 30* before reaching the turn around point. A little bit of snow/frost/ice on the ground. Hands were nearly frozen, even with winter gloves on.

Back at 4C we headed on over to Motorway. Dropped into the first DH on Main Divide and was splashed with mud and water. It would be that way most of the way across. We did run into @Bryon along the way and the group got a little bigger. Couple of soft and spongy spots before Motorway.

Short break at the top of Motorway. As we were discussing the trail, I realized this would be the first trip down on the new SS. I didn't push on the climb, but once over the top I just went. I didn't think I was pushing the pace. Slowed up a few times when I encountered hikers. Otherwise I just let it roll. Down towards the bottom I could see the rider that was ahead of us, so the chase was on. Caught him at the moto barrier. Kinda took my time going over as I was chatting with the other rider. Down and out and bottom. The other 2 were a ways back.

    Uneventful roll back down Silverado.

Now I took 1:02 off my PR....my rolling time was another :31 quicker than that.....on a 12:00 DH. There is still time to be dropped.

Holy-moly, 14 PRs today. Mix of climbing and descending. That included a ridge line that kinda freaks me out a little that I dropped in and rode the whole way (and PRed!). Really windy, but not miserably so, and protected in the canyons. And a LOT of riders out. Looks like a lot of people were out! I was going down a trail I've always kinda' liked, and some guys were coming up. They said I should climb it and take another one down. Good advice, as the other trail (Rattler) was a blast to ride down, with big huge banked berms that let you open it up. I tried to get not one, not two, but three guys to ride with me, and nobody was available, so did it all solo. 19 miles/19k ft over 2:20. And forgot my water bottle so had to find some well-placed fountains on the ride!

There was a lot of hikers out yesterday when I was riding also but I didn't see another rider. I did see plenty of fresh tire tracks in the hero dirt though, so they had been there earlier.

@Faust29 and @mtnbikej , awesome riding with you guys. It was cold up at the peak. Nice temps on main divide and a fun run down Motorway. Great day on the bike. Oh and I got some snow pics.

I rode my bike....yesterday. I went to go visit @herzalot 's neighborhood to check out the massive crowds and wouldn't you know it, I saw not one hiker or biker on any of the downs we did. Oh and the dirt was soooo magical, makes me want to split work and go get some more before it all dries out!

^When you were rolling through the partly shaded canopy, it looked like you are traveling at light-speed because the light shining through became streaky.

30'? :whistling: OK, sonny boy. You keep tellin' yourself that! :speechless:

Cool little video, @tbarnesarc. Always entertaining to hear your commentary, and stoke.  You were getting on the pedals in the slalom section. Nice work.

As I was viewing, I kept thinking of @Runs with Scissors and how he would probably love the canopy section, and the slalom section after the HaB. Honestly, who doesn't?

I was though... @SnakeCharmer  It's amazing what a simple thing like an ND filter does to GoPro footage i.e. motion blur. Was stoked on how that came out for sure.;)
