Did a Peters Cyn-Oaks run from the house with a couple of buddies. Perfect weather for a ride, but I hear the heat's coming back for the weekend. Ran into @mtnbikej and Mrs mtnbikeJ on Deer. Almost literally. Sorry Jay, tried to get out of your way quickly since you were going up but I didn't see you two until the last minute. Good ride. Oaks was fun, Peters was full of hikers, but it's better than taking the pavement home.

Like @pperrelle mentioned above....I was out in the Oaks today. Anniversary Ride for the wife and I. We rolled up Oak, down Yucca and up Coachwhip. At the top, my wife says if we do Deer...we are going to go clockwise....hell yeah. Turned into social hour at the top of Deer. Ran into a couple of friends. Dropped down Chutes Ridgeline...per my wife. Then headed home to grab some dinner.

    Good times.

I was out at Oaks yesterday too. I have been riding it a couple a times a week since my kids' soccer club began practicing at Oakridge school. It is kinda nice having the time to ride considering they practice there 4 times a week. Anyways, yesterday I noticed a lot of people pre riding the course for Saturday's shindig. I think I got passed by the same dude twice.

I forgot to mention....my wife was out in Oaks yesterday morning walking the horses and saw a large Buck out there at the bottom of Goat.

Last night as we passed the bottom of Oak, we ran into a family of deer....same Buck, 2 does and mama cruising down the road between Oak and Peralta.

Rode to work again today - that makes 4 days in a row. :geek: Saved 128 miles on the truck...but since I took various routes I ended up riding 141. I don't know yet what I'm doing for the weekend. Maybe I'll break 200 for the week.

Oh... I rode my bike today. And there was lots of dirt, and rain, and trees, and green. And it was 36 degrees. More to come...

Rode Strawberry Peak today w my bud Oscar. We decided to park at Switzers to avoid the climb to Clear Creek at the end and Im glad we did! The climb up Josephine was windy as hell! We caught a strong headwind, once we hit the saddle it was much calmer. Decided to hit some extra cred and rode to Josephine peak for some scenic views!

Had a blast bombing the trail and the temps were perfect! A couple of downed trees. Rode the log on the Gabrielino and as I hopped off my rear tire hit a sharp rock and gave me a flat, no biggie....

That pic makes the previous picture of Oaks look just f'in desolate. Wanty hero dirt and greenness. Wherever that is looks great.

I rode about 16 miles of that... And some spots that were actually greener!

TECRIL rides again! Solo this time, and very lethargic/anemic. 2400' (of course) 18 miles. Fun downs. Slow slog up Mathis today - wasn't feelin' it. Weather was great. Low 70s.

The clapper fell off my TimberBell. I'm sad. :( First one fell off entirely. Second one lost its clapper. Not sure I'll buy a third one, but they work really well for hikers. They appreciate it, and they are usually off to the side and gracious by the time I see them.

That is all. Bikes are fun!:)

Oh yeah? Well Voodoo Tom and I rode Strawberry today, ha hah! :)
Ever so slight breeze, perfect weather just a tinge on the warm side and no extra credit and no flats! Wish we could have rode it together! ;)
Strawberry for some reason has never been a fav, but after today I think it went up several notches! Had a blast with @Voodoo Tom (it was new dirt for him )

@Mikie. Strawberry? Did you lose my number? I pedaled over to Sycamore Canyon from Moorpark Rd. Hooked up with OTB for a while then split off. Sycamore Canyon was pretty crowded today with several large groups. Still able to get a good ride in. Screenshot_20160924-175717.jpg

Wait for it.....wait for it. I went for a ride today.

Non Dot Race at Santiago Oaks today. Volunteer day for me. Early start at 6am to help set up the venue....then go out on course and marshall the bottom of Yucca Ridge.

Did a little bit of extra credit...did a lot of socializing.

LCWP today, from Ridge Park Drive in Newport Coast. I got a later start than I wanted, and I've never seen so many cars parked there.

Rolled solo at 8:10 am. Sunny, and promising to be a hot one. Lizard - upper Laurel, Camarillo, Stagecoach. Since I was alone, I didn't stop on any of it. Didn't even dab my nemesis turn on Camarillo (I had my foot out and it was ready, but I didn't use it).

I took a little break in the Willow parking lot for rr and elbow pad removal, then the trudge up the hill. Uneventful. A stop at the top of the park to put on the elbow pads that I like to wear for Rattlesnake. Then Missing Link/Fenceline. Near collision on FL with some dufus who has no visor on his TLD A1 helmet, and was riding a green Bronson. Said rider (there are some who call him, "Tim") invited me to do T and A, but I was headed the other direction and didn't want another climb up Willow. Cool running into you @StrandLeper!

Then Red Tail to Rattlesnake. Had a smoker on Rattlesnake right down the gut in the chunkiest lines. Wooo Whooooo! Stopped at the bottom to try to help some dude with a locked up brake. After 10 minutes, no luck. Calipers were stuck closed. Avid Elixirs.

Then the looooong climb from the bottom of the park back to the top of ML/FL. Gettin' tired and anemic again. The final 500' of climbing was tough today and, like yesterday, I was far more exhausted than I should have been. :(

Good day though! Great runs on the downs, respectable climbing 'til the end. 17 miles. 2730'

    Bikes are fun! :thumbsup::):cool:

After a week off the bike I got up to Angelus Oaks for some trail maintenance PO loop. Bought a 10" 18V chainsaw. Light weight and small. I was able to clear most everything to the landslide, 4 batteries used up by this point. Road back to the Truck, then hit it to check out my handy work. Wooohooo it is almost back to perfection. 18 miles of work and fun. Looking to get back up in a few weeks to tidy up. Go enjoy it.
