I could swear I’ve seen this post somewhere before. So, you rode with Kenya. She needs to get her mtb fixed and hit the dirt with the Mulisha like the old days.
Good job on the big ride.

Were you riding the Week Day Worlds? The start is always fast then once they get to Munz things start to slow down a little or become more group oriented.

Lol, yes! And I was told that it was an extra fast day due to some young gun riders who usually don’t do that ride.
Maybe I just had a crushed ego, I’m over it now :D

Got up early, headed out for one of my top three favorite road rides: GMR & environs. Weighed anchor at 0547 and headed up the hill. Temps in low 60s to start, maybe 75 at the end. Glorious morning on the bike.

Ventura road ride today with the Peddle Posse and my bestie went south when she got stung by a bee....on her tongue:confused:
She and I turned around less than halfway through as she was getting short of breath and her tongue was swelling pretty bad. We ended up stopping at a fire station:inlove:. They quickly got her hooked up to monitors and called an ambulance just in case she went into anaphylactic shock. Thankfully after about an hr at the station she was feeling good enough to go home, so I hauled arse and biked back to my car so I could pick her up and take her home. Poor thing is still in some pain and is crazy sleepy from the benedryl, but will be fine. She’s a tough cookie:thumbsup: Those firefighters took good care of her:laugh::inlove:

On Saturday Jennifer and I did our 3rd Tehachapi Gran Fondo. This year she dropped to the Medio Fondo (77 miles) and I stuck with the full 100.
We started out at a brisk pace and our routes would separate us about 5 miles out. At that point I decided to pick up the pace and reel in the lead group. It didn't take much with a few of us working together.
I was able to stay with the lead group until mile 41 which was at the bottom of a 6 mile descent. At that point it was a climb back out of said descent and I knew there was no way I could keep up.
At that point I decided to just finish the ride. Temps were slowly climbing so I took it easy on the climbs then tried to make up time on the flats and descents. At one point I saw 103° on my Elemnt and it felt like it.
Around mile 65 I caught Jennifer at a sag stop. She looked great. We parted ways and finished at our own pace. I think she finished about a half hour after me. She did great considering she never really trains for these rides.
Our routes were essentially the same minus the out and back on the right side of the map. She finished with 77 miles and 6,100'. I don't really consider it a race but I finished 23rd out about 50 who did the whole Fondo.

Dang, @UPSed we were so close to each other most of the ride. I knew you were out there but kept looking for your UPS jersey so I must have missed you a few times, especially on the way out to Sand Canyon and then down to Keene we had to have been in the same pack.

Yeah. I was pretty much with the lead pack until the climb out of Keene. At that point there was no way I could keep up with the real roadies.

BTW I don't have a UPS jersey. :whistling:
