It's a pretty nice ride for what it is. Would be better on a non holiday weekday (obviously) as the Santa Monica and Venice sections were slowed to a crawl trying to dodge people. The Marina to Redondo was nice.

I did a decent sized ride yesterday, admittedly it kind of wiped me out for the day:eek: I think I’m overtraining a little:oops:

Roadie Ride... From the RSM end of Antonio to the landfill past the 74. 27 miles and 2,000 feet, I believe. All in the rain... Sometimes light, sometimes hard. There were a couple other hearty souls out there...

The only "oh Sh!t" moment was coming down from the landfill at mach chicken in the heavy rain. I thought I was doing really well... Then I hit the crosswind at the bottom and fought the bike to keep from being blown into the traffic lane.

The plastic Schwinn ran well... Except the front derailleur didn't want to shift. It ended up being a Big Ring ride... Cross chaining and all!

I did a little quickie out towards the Rose Bowl this morning on my Jabber. Fresh dead skunk at Descanso Gardens made for some bad stinky. 9.61 miles, and not a drop of rain on me. Sadly, this is only my third ride of 2019.

    I need an escort!!!!!!!

I dropped off a car at Toyota of San Bernardino this morning and rode to work in Riverside.

Is there any chance anyone will be roadie-ing this evening between Colton and San Bernardino? I’m riding from Marlboro Park (Riverside) to Toyota of San Bernardino around 5pm and would like some company to avoid getting mugged by hobos and/or gangsters.

Your company would be very much appreciated, and I’ll buy the TACOS!!!!

The bangers won't be out in the rain, probably safer (hopefully).

    My Willie Nelson ride...

Drier than yesterday, with only a few minutes of light rain. I didn't get run over or crash, so I guess it was a good ride. It was pavement. :gag: I did swap the front 23mm tire for a 28mm Panaracer that I had in the garage. It felt a lot better, and I decreased the pressure a little...

Round trip 16 miles and unknown elevation, but it’s probably in the dozens. I saw no one along the river trail or beneath roadway bridges. Cities must improve cycling infrastucture to reduce death. Funding could be available, but it is spent on things that help the wrong demographic. It’s that simple...

    Or...

And I don't even like country music. On the way back from Oregon, my kid was playing everything from rap to Johnny Cash to Willie Nelson and a smorgasbord from the 70s and 80s. Now I have this song stuck in my head.:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

Your kid and mine sound like they have some good tastes in music... they're not boxing themselves into any one genre!

Dude's Willie is a darn legend. Despite the odds and his 85 years of hard miles he is still on the top side of the grass. How many of the new saggy pants hip hop rapper rapper fools you think are gonna make it that long? Oh and Jerry mf'n Reed was a boss like @Runs with Scissors said...

I went as a roadie today. Did a century out of the garage - a ride I've wanted to do for a long time. Way slower than I wanted to be, but I haven't done a century in almost two years and that last one was the pancake flat Tour of Long Beach.

I took off from the house, headed west to the San Gabriel River bike path, and took that to San Gabriel Canyon. Up the canyon to East Fork, up and over GMR down into Glendora, then followed the GPS bike route back home. Except for the blasted headwinds all morning on my way up the riverbed, the weather and conditions today were prime. Some storm evidence in a few places but not as bad I figured it would be. Good times on the bike. If you want to see the Relive, it's here https://www.relive.cc/view/2090360247
