Tagging. WTF? The beer bottles anger me, the fan belts frustrate me, but when I see an endurance nutrition product package, my blood boils!

Amen man! I got two GU wrappers, a Clif wrapper and a half full bottle of Sparklets Saturday in Malibu. Sometimes I want to collect all those GU wrappers and mail them into their headquarters.

    Pfffffffffftttt.....:cautious:

I think riders should be DNF'd if they drop trash on the course. It's just inconsiderate to the other users and the organizers to expect them to go back through 50 miles of course and pick up your trash.

Horsethief is one that could use a trash pickup day... The bushes 10 feet off the trail are loaded with garbage.

Same here... When I see a gu or honey stinger or any small package of gel..... an average mtbker or hiker got the hidden valley granola bars and the dedicated mtbker and hiker get the gels at specialty stores. That is why I get mad, because they are supposedly dedicated to the sport and enviroment ...how hard is to pack it back in wherever you pack it out?

There's an old dump area at the very end of the Luge (just before the 2nd water crossing). Misc. junk. I've walked or ridden past it for years and keep thinking someone might spontaneously clean it up. Nope. Still there.

It's not much, but there's one less fruit bar wrapper in Whiting.:)

I also remembered to pack a trash bag this time when I took the family hiking at Weir Canyon this afternoon. Packed a couple of empty wrappers out of there, too.

My wife and kids got that for my birthday last summer. I wasn't sure about it... until I tried it on a 50 miler. It's pretty hard to beat!

I even wore it on the death march last weekend just for extra clothes.

Funny... That's the same way I found mine. Right at a water crossing... It probably started with, "Hey Guys, Hold my beer. I'm going to walk on water!" Are you sure there wasn't a body floating around in there?

Picked up a couple pieces of "hiker" trash in Laguna today (no self-respecting mountain biker would have brought these on a ride). Both times I actually rode past them, just enjoying the day and reminded myself of this thread and thought "It's not a race, I'm not in a hurry, I might as well stop and go back and pack them out."

Empty plastic water bottle on Bommer Ridge just before TNA, and a plastic Starbucks stirrer stick on the main ridge fire road in Aliso near the start of Rock-it
    IMG_6930.JPG
(hmm ... that pic seems unnecessarily large ... I need to learn how to downsize some of these pics)

I'll admit I decided to let a few squares of TP stay on the side of the fire road to biodegrade on their own in Aliso ... I don't cross that line:gag: ... come on people, at least bury it!

Great to see others who pick up trash all the time. I'm known to stop in the middle of a great downhill when I see a wrapper off in the bushes or a dropped bike bottle. Aso for the Gu packets, they don't seem to have their 'exchange' program as they did in the past, but do offer

During my trek up to Four Corners in CHSP, I saw exactly ZERO pieces of trash. Amazing for all the traffic that route sees on the weekends.

Was out at the Open Access Day at Bommer Canyon. I ran across one of those devious mylar balloons up in a tree. So..I hopped of (yes..off trail) to gather it..couldn't let it stay there. The whole time I'm prancing in the cacti and bushes hoping a snake is not waiting for me. Bvader...this is for you!! This was the biggest balloon I've seen. We tried to spread it out and see what it said or was...don't know...don't care...it's not stuck in a tree, bush, or animal habitat.
