Quick ski trip to big bear with Jr on Thursday.

 

Got my peeps out to play in the snow!

 

Total headache all day... ended up not taking advantage of perfect weather after a small rainstorm in the morning. Finally getting over it this evening.
I put some fenders on my road bike, and did some small adjustments on the boy's bike. Hopefully up for a good ride tomorrow morning!

This is getting to be like my routine posts in the other thread. I imagine I'll start getting Sh!t for going to the same place and doing the same thing again. I'll get lectured about how I am unnecessarily limiting myself, and not taking advantage of the wide variety of ski resorts and back-country locations that cooler people than me ride/ski frequently. Oh well. I don't get bored doing fun things repeatedly under great conditions, while still balancing a family life.

Well cuz it rained and I wrenched on my old truck instead. Old girl needed some new shoes and a set popped up cheap here locally that just happened to be attached to new wheels for the same price as just the shoes were gonna cost. Supposed to be the same size as what I removed according to the numbers but they’re bigger and rub like sh!t. Did some minor trimming of useless plastic that helped but tomorrow the sawzall comes out and they will fit perfectly...

 

I didn't ride my bike tonight. It's raining, it's late, and I have a 101.0 fever now.

I was trying to get some sleep but I kept hearing noises outside. I got up twice but I did not see anything. Third time was a charm, though. A freakin' opposum was out there making a racket. Of course, when it saw me, it went into it's playing dead mode, complete with a Sh!t eating grin like they always have in this case.

I picked it up by the tail and escorted it off the property. It did not budge one millimeter throughout the process. I have had them wake up in start squirming before, though.

I haven't done this in decades but it was sort of exciting, I guess.

Wow! I would have never picked him up. Those little doods scare me! It would have been a scoop shovel at the least!

Opposums are generally easy to handle. Since they play dead and stiffen up, they don't react to being picked up by the tail (at least not immediately). I've moved several this way before. One or two of them started to try to lift themselves up to be released but it wasn't in a nasty, aggressive manor, more like "WTF is going on here, did I just learn how to fly?". Would they bite if they could? Yeah, probably.

 

Opossums are so cool... but damn they are ugly.

 

I'm willing to bet the new wheels have a lower offset than the ones you replaced...thus pushing them out further, and creating the rubbing.

I see nothing wrong with this program at all. If you’re having fun having fun then you’re doing it right. Not too much to second guess about that.
