I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

That's a violation of some sort.

 

Cuzz jam day landed on Friday.

I got a burning feeling deep inside of me. And it's yearning. But I'm gonna set it free.

 

Because I'm on vacation. I know. Usually all I do on my vacations is ride my bike. Not today. I'm spending it with Jennifer. Breakfast. Car washed and waxed. Costco run. Lunch. Afternoon movie. Is this what retirement is like?

 

I had every intention to ride today. Somehow, other stuff intruded and I never got the chance.

But what the heck, the weekend is young.

 

I hear that climbing MTT is the "in thing" nowadays.

 

That is hard to believe!!

 

Saturday - searching for fish to the tune of 100 miles and not a single paddy or boil to be seen.

 

Because it had to go back to work. Stupid work. Work work work. That's all I do is work.

 

I had hoped to ride p-12 today but I had to stay at work longer than planned. On the way home I was driving within a mile of the trails and remembered that our fearless leader @Mikie would be waiting at the meeting spot for his Thursday night ride. I decided to head over and say hi before his group headed up the hill. Besides, maybe all those pics by @Voodoo Tom and Mikie were posed and the ride reports made up
I pulled up and there was Mikie, pelvis and all, geared up and raring to hit the trail. He is looking slim and I think he needs some of Robin's cookies or no one will be able to catch him.

 

That was my stunt double.

 

What was he doing with your pelvis - you need that thing!

 

Because work. Last night I sent a text to my supervisor requesting today off if they were over drivers. This morning I received a text from him saying they were one up. Cool. I'll get everything ready for a bike ride but have my uniform ready just in case. At 8:10 I got the dreaded text. Sorry but we need you. No worries. I'm off next week so I will make up for it.

 

It's my Friday off. I was up at 5 am. Had breakfast. Walked out to the garage, looked at the bike, turned around and went back in. Just got out of the chair, in a few minutes I'll get back in it and finish the book I'm reading.

Just one of those days, I guess.

 

I haven't ridden my bike a week now. Too busy to sneak away even for a Cherry Canyon quickie lately. Estimated taxes are due at the end of the week so I am a working fool.

I might change that tomorrow morning though. I think I can sneak in a local quickie between dropping the daughter off at school and my PT appointment.

No wonder I've been such a grumpy poop face lately.

I've ridden my bike once in September. And my surfboard twice. Not riding either this coming weekend.

And yet, I still feel incredibly blessed.

...I was Mr. Auto Body repairman this morning. The wife thrashed the front bumper cover on her car about a month or two ago. I ordered a new cover and had it painted at the local auto body paint shop. This morning, I pulled the old one off and installed the new one. All better now.

And, I'm free to go ride...

 

Spent the weekend in San Diego W/ the Wife. Waves were small so no Body Boarding either. Paddle boarded in the bay though twice. Got home today installed flooring in the walk in closet. Did billing for the job and then worked on the teardrop a little. Maybe a ride tomorrow.

 

Didn't ride yesterday. Wife and I drove to Sherman Oaks to visit some friends and do lunch. In Santa Monica...

The place was pretty good but spendy. The Water Grill on Ocean Ave. Seafood-centric but they actually know how to cook filet mignon. It did not moo at me when I cut into it. The sheer mass of freaks and geeks in that area is mind blowing.

Then we hung out at their place. Work today.

 

Saturday, running around, setting up backyard, prepping for the little guys 1st bday bash in the morning, then the festivities at night.

Today, recovering from yesterday. Im pooped.

Totally forgot this weekend is thanksgiving in Canada.

Doubt I well ride today, unless it's over to the bike shop to get my rear hub fixed.

 

My wife fixed a Canadian Thanksgiving meal for me today. Turkey and all the fixings. She didn't stuff the bird with maple leaves and make maple syrup gravy like my Mum used to.

 

I had planned on riding this afternoon......then mom called with dinner invite. Sooooooo...dinner with the family erased my ride.

 

No ride Sunday. Puppy proofing the yard and a rest day from the Music festival on Sat.

Cuzz I just finished mounting a $20 TV in the garage and now I'm watching Smokey and the Bandit for the 500th time and drinking beer, nuff said...

Lol!!! I think I passed 500 a long time ago! Gimme a Diablo sandwich and Dr. Pepper!!!
