I Did Some Trail Work Today

Gotta take advantage of any rain. Stopped in a few spots yesterday to fix some ruts and other trail damage.

me too, I rolled over trail biscuits left by somebody that could not wait for the clay to dry out. They were pretty hard, don't know if I busted any up. I noticed the mud cracks on the tread were gone, they will return once the Santa Ana's strike mid April.

 

I've fallen behind on trail maintenance for the Catalina Verdugo trail in my area. I haven't been riding it as much (part of the Cherry Canyon loop) and when I have ridden it, it seemed that someone else had been helping to keep it clear of overgrowth. The other day I rode it for the first time in months and almost got ripped me off the bike. So today I headed over there with the intention of getting the 1.9 mile stretch started. But it is so overgrown that I only got about 80 feet cleared the way it should be done. Oh well, this is gonna take a while...

 

My apprentice and I got after some brushing yesterday. A six-hour push with minimal breaks took a toll, but we completed the mission. ROI later this week.
