Well you know what I meant!
@Ben Mean Green... good job!
Thanks @Mikie and I also learned you can tag folks today in the forums woot! Looking forward to getting out on some rides with the group when I can. I'll keep my eyes open. I might even post a ride here and there.
Liking that avatar!
Thanks @Mikie DVO Winter Gravity Series in bootleg canyon. Photo Credit is Phil Beckman of PBCreative. He scared the crap out of me when I turned that corner. He was totally behind the rock so I saw him last second, grabbed some brake out of reaction lol.
Phil's a cool dude, he can be sneaky. Works hard. If you like the shots, buy some. I need to buy some more.
Changed the screen name per request. Im Livin the Dream ...nice!
Hey @Im Livin the Dream Whachu ridin'? Looks DVOish and Enduro-ish.
Nice job on the 10,000'! Welcome to the club. I do that all the time. Monthly as a matter of fact.
Yup, here you go. Mostly pics of my bike and my buddies lol.
Hey @herzalot (great username btw) thanks! You ride 10k monthly in a ride? Oh boy, I need to jump in on your rides then so I can make this a regular occurrence!
As for my bike, I am ridin a Niner Jet 9 RDO with DVO sapphire up front with 120mm travel. This bike is made for Endurance type riding and it so handles light enduro style stuff pretty great for being an XC bike. The geometry will get me if I try and act like it's an enduro bike. The bike is rad and the suspension makes my life on it about 100% better.
Noooooooooo.....he means he does that much climbing in a month....total.
However there are some of us here that like and do big rides like this on a regular basis.
What he said.
And I was exaggerating to the low side @Im Livin the Dream. I do nearly twice that in a month! I am the resident anti-climber. I don't like climbing, but I do it 'cuz it's better for me than not doing it, and that's how I get to the downs. Long days in the saddle and long fire-road climbs with little DH payoff are not my thing.
However, you will find many on this site willing to grind out 7000-10,000 foot rides with you.
Impressive Avatar pic. Looks like an Enduro race - more my thing - except the racing part. And definitely a different bike with the full green lowers DVO Diamond.
I can't even descend 10,000'. Congratulations.
Yeah, do that 2x /wk and sometimes on a unicycle
Ah jeeze I got a little confused there I guess. I just posted pics of the ride at Rocky peak and I thought you were talking about that bike.
Yea the avatar pic is my Tracer 27.5 Full DVO Diamond, Topaz and Garnet build. Dig that bike. Full enduro 160mm travel. Nothing but fun! I enjoy the suffering of climbing. I like to keep the fitness I have earned but I do love me some DH. Honestly, I love riding any and all trails. There's something to be had from all types of rides. Anything from ST to FR whatever I'll pedal it.
Heresy! Blasphemy! Stone him!
I have a DVO Tracer too, but not with DVO at the moment. Currently the Topaz and Diamond are dry docked while a Cane Creek Inline and Fox 36 manage the bumps. Never had a Garnet.
@herzalot Oh yeah, I see you are an enduro guy now. A pretty serious one at that. Here's my old steed (the green one), Had the jade on the rear with a titanium spring to lighten it up by about 3/4 lb and I had the stealth reverb dropper. Before upgrading to a new model (the other one ). But I can't live without my topaz, diamond, and garnet set up though.
Badass, man, congrats!
Nothing beats a good bucket list tick. Except a bigger one
I still love those DX pedals. A little thick, but the engagement and platform are sublime!
And that second bike looks to be the new Tracer, yes?
Yes it's a tracer and I love those pedals. I bounce off rocks with them it's great. Plus I need to be clipped in.
Nice watermark on your avatar.. from the same photographer.
Yup, I have and I do. This one, however, came from an article I got mentioned in on Pinkbike.com. Pretty stoked on that.
10k ... oh man i just dont want to add that to my bucket list..
But i get it..slippery slope..u just get greedy n want to ride more n more n suffer more n more.when 2000ft isnt enough..2 hours is too short...
And when u just gotta hit that downhill one more time in the dark when u ran out of daylight... and u push it just one more climb and have some hallucinations...
And run out of food but u dont care bc u gotta ride n keep up n bonk out...
When ur buddies all scrounge paks n pockets n share the last of the goo..and at the last section u all rannout of water n sit down and find that some hiker forgot their water bottle so u share that too..
Yeah i love mtbkin
6300 elevation training for counting coup..
Who cares about the miles..
Welcolm bro..living the dream!
That is one of the best descriptions of mountain biking I have ever heard! Well done!
