I'd run that for a lot more rides. You are just breaking it in.

my front Butcher looked like that, I moved it to the rear. It was a huge upgrade compared to the equally worn Slaughter.
Replaced the front with Trail King 2.4 and combined, traction was transformed, but pedaling/climbing felt like pulling a sled. Totally worth it.

I ride a lot of tires that have less tread on them when brand new.

Lol. He's checking to make sure I put the tire on right. And, the rotation is good.

I can look at a tire and see that it is worn, but most times that is not an indicator that it is worn out. I prefer to wait until I notice a drop off in cornering, climbing or braking performance to change it. That said, plenty of my "worn" tires have had a longer second life on one of my buddies bikes.

This is how I judge as well. Mainly cornering and braking. As I am more like to fall when doing those two instead of climbing.

Oh. And, this is what the inside of the old tire looked like when I took it off. Dry as a bone. Not a drop of sealant.

If the side knobs (especially the "L" blocks) aren't torn, and there are still sipes in the center, you have a ton of life and traction left in a Minion. Yours is (was) just getting prime!

That DDD XR 4? Definitely worn and ready for the trash heap - er, I mean recycle bin.

Yeah @Redman those tires definitely had enough tread for many more miles, I also bought a new tire. My current tire also starting to show wear but even w/ a couple road rides and trail, the Ground Control grids still hanging in just fine.20170701_215724.jpg

  22. Fresh tires are so great. I'd put new ones on monthly if cost was not a factor.

So far i have raced all season on tires given to me :)

Though, in fairness, they were barely used, the owners just didn't like them (except the Hans Dampf I'm trying, I have to give that back).

My old RaRa looked like a slick down the middle last year. I just called it fast rolling!
