Mine has 4 speeds. Eco, trail, turbo and off. Off it pedals like a regular bike but you can definitely feel the extra weight.

Ive been using an approved silencer grease in my I-9s since the beginning. They are more quiet than an average hub and its remained so month after month.

Loud hubs were great to warn hikers, loved them. then I got an awareness bell. Loud hubs are no longer needed and I enjoy the silence.

I've used non-approved grease since the beginning with no engagement problems. On top of that, I removed 3 of the six pawls. My I9's are so quiet they absorb sound.
