The lowdown, the straight dope, the authentic history, and five metric s#!+-tonnes of photos! I stumbled upon this site when researching the old Foresta Road that connects El Portal on CA-140 to Old Coulterville Road at Foresta, on the west edge of Yosemite.

It is not far at all, but there is a pretty big cliff between them

Cool, thanks for that link. The old Foresta road is pretty cool. I rode it a few years ago as a loop from Briceburg up Burma Grade and then across old Coulterville Rd to Foresta.
