Good Dirt Ride - Volunteers needed

I'm summarizing from an email I got...

If you're doing the ride - great! If not, your help is needed.

Who doesn't want a free lunch??
If you sign up to volunteer at Good Dirt Ride, you get a free lunch, beer, and t-shirt.

We all love to ride OC trails, now it's time to give back.
Part of the funds raised go towards maintaining our own trails.

We have openings for course guides, sweepers, traffic control and a lot more...
Oh yeah, and spouses, kids, and other family members are welcome to volunteer too.

Thanks to those that have already signed up!

I've done the 50 mile Ride for Rwanda (changing the name, regardless of the reason, was stupid and counterproductive) three times. I have the "I-Love-Me-Wall" proof.

But I have no interest in scoring a jersey that says "Good Dirt Ride." There's no cachet. No bragging rights. No...anything.
If you are not interested in riding, did you consider volunting?
They are looking for sweepers... You get to ride the ride without paying for it.

Win win in my book.

100% not volunteering.

However ... just wondering what the point of this ride is? Why would anyone pay to ride this? Where is the money going?
