    My glove is my glove.

I don’t want you to wear it-and you probably don’t want to anyway.

My glove is molded to my hand by sweat and blood. Yes, I said blood, but I didn’t mention tears. I use my glove to wipe the blood from my free-flowing scratches and gouges. Couldn’t be bothered to stop and put a proper bandage on. Sh!t! I got my glove!

I wouldn’t ride without my glove. I have had my palm peeled back once too often for that foolishness. I wish I had a reflective one so the drivers could see when I flip them off at night.

My glove will let me adjust a derailleur without taking it off. I like my glove when I need to man handle a wayward chain away from some spokes or even a frame. If I have to take my gloves off, its time to eat a cliff bar or something.
My glove will keep my fingers warm down until it gets socold that I need gloves-I have them, but they never seem to be warm enough. Nothing numbs out your hand like a fetid, sour smelling, snot covered, bacteria infested, terry cloth thumb.

My glove doesn’t do Sh!t against yuccas and the like. I have pulled month-old yucca needles from my knuckles and never even saw them pierce the glove. It does keep my palm from being used as a flesh brake pad. And I can wipe snot on it.

The glove soaks up my sweat. Some of it. Really, it’s about useless as a sweat rag after about a half hour of riding. But I still keep dragging that fetid, sour smelling, snot covered, bacteria infested, terry cloth thumb across my forehead, nose and mouth! Enjoy!

My glove stinks. It is the accumulated rottenness of the bacteria that we humans can put out and stuff into a leather(ette) glove.

Throw that, wet, into a gear bag in a hot car and you have a biology experiment waiting to be dragged under your nose. Or your buddy’s, if he was unfortunate enough to have to borrow your glove.

Never ever wash your glove. Weird things happen to gloves inthe washing machine. They get stuck, via velcro, to random articles of clothing. The Velcro can lose its “Velcro-ness”. Strange threads will comeloose and you will have your index finger sticking out-or even your pinkie! You will also wash away your funkiness.

I wash my gloves. I like pulling on come clean gloves. I have to wash my GF's gloves...if I don't...they'll stand up on their own.

As stated before, hockey gloves have a way bigger smell factor.

I wash my MTB gloves hardly ever, maybe once a quarter but probably less. When I do I throw them in the lingerie bag that came with my Dirtbaggies and just wash them with my riding clothes.

Now that I think about it my riding gloves really don't smell.. I'll chalk it up to not riding enough lately and lapse of memory from when I did ride a lot.

I read the thread wrong, I thought you were making a tribute to Missy The Missile from days gone by. She's still a wild one.

But as J. Geils said, "Glove stinks!"

(Yes, I pulled out two references from 20 and 30 years ago).

Get the funk outta here with that no washing the gloves stuff ;~)

I wash mine in the sink with Dawn and warm water. Squirt some dawn on them, run some warm water over them, squeeze and release several times as the water runs over them until the flow of dirt and soap is at least greatly reduced. Squeeze them out really well one last time, and then use a hanger that has clips on it to hang them to dry. We all have our own unique, strange idiosyncrasies, but c'mon, this takes all of five minutes  :gag:

Show some love to the glove. . . . . NO! Not THAT kind of love. Just wash the damn things! :p

Really? My hockey equipment in general was always super rancid.. even after hanging it to dry on my homemade PVC pipe tree (most of the time). It was really bad when I was younger playing several times a week. The worst was when I had to go somewhere after a game/practice and the gear just baked in the car and stunk it up like no other.

My riding gloves hardly ever get stinky but I do put my gloves/helmet/knee pads/shoes in front of a fan in my garage after every ride. My jerseys smell like In-n-Out grilled onions after rides but that's because I don't wear deodorant while riding because it attracts bugs. (Yes, my clothes get washed after every ride.)

For whatever reason, my hands don't get nasty sweaty so my gloves rarely need any loving. Then again, I am basically allergic to extreme heat so in the heat of the Summer, I generally switch to fishing and ride less.

Schweaty ballz, now that's different story...

No sure if I like where this is headed. . . .

I'd prefer to assume that my riding cohorts are just like me and never, ever, ever, ever, ever have to deal with the totally mythical 'swamp booty'

    Lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalaaaaaaa

You must have the "magic gloves"..... I buy 2-3 pairs a year.

There is no need to pay more the $25 for a pair. When they rip, throw them away.
Don't fall in love with your $hit.
Use it. Don't abuse it. Replace it when needed. Repeat!

They are washed after every ride. Everything is washed after every ride (knee pads, hip armor, elbow pads). I am fortunate enough to be able to put it all in the laundry sink, and then it magically appears in my closet clipped to coat hangers a few days later.

We have one of those washers that don't have an agitator. I put all the gloves in a small mesh bag and toss them in the washer with the rest of the laundry. After that I just lay them flat on top of the washer to dry. None of the gloves are tore up and the velcro doesn't shred the clothes.

I rotate between 3 pairs of gloves that hardly ever get washed. My post ride routine is to hang that rides gloves up, toss the prior rides gloves in the garage freezer, move the pair in the freezer to my “ride stuff” shelf.

They only get washed if the smell bad (hasn’t happened since I started the above routine) or after they get particularly dirty (usually mud or blood (mine)).

Whenever I do wash my gloves, I quickly and simply hand wash them under running cold water in the sink. Then hang dry, and done.
