Two car garage with 2 cars in it (and laundry) is a nonstarter for bikes. Something will have to give.
You might find room for the bikes, but they will be impossible to get to without moving the cars. A real PITA.

I'm looking for a good storage solution for the suspension bikes (keeping the rubber side down).
Is it possible to have too many bikes?
I was trying to talk to my wife about expending the garage..... I lost!

I have a 2-car garage that contains 2 cars, a workbench and cabinet on the left, shelves on the right, and 5 bikes.

All at the same time.

We have to park both cars in a 2 car garage....my Ram and Suz’s CX-5.

I hang 3 bikes on the wall...2x4 lag bolted to the studs, then tire hooks into the 2x4. It used to be 4 bikes on the wall, but I needed space for my work bench.

Mount the ledger up as high as you can you your bike, the kids bikes are not that big of a deal.

I have a one car garage with car, 2 bikes on one rack and laundry.
Not to mention all the crap that goes in as storage.
If be surprised if can get a family of gnats in there at this point.

The car I do the sideways shuffle to get in and out of it.
And car needs to be moved to get the bikes.

. And yes, I know I'm of no help at all.

Hoping you have some storage space (Rafters) above the garage. If so, hang them from the joists.
Is it mandatory for both cars to be garaged?

My townhouse complex has "two car garages," but there is a wall in the middle with the water heater, washing machine, and dryer. That being said, it's really two single car garages. I end up either putting my bike in front of the car if I'm not using it much or behind the car and move it every time I need to use the car. It's a pain, but I have no wall or ceiling mount options.

Good luck on finding something that allows easy access to both the bike and the car.

Cars in the garage is mandatory, I’m very anal about clean cars having owned a mobile detailing business during college. Also seeing a lot of videos on the Ring app of people (scumbags) messing with cars parked outside at night in this area.

Thank you for the responses and ideas so far, if anyone is willing to post a picture of their hanging setup it would help a lot.

For now the spare bedroom is where my bikes will live.

When I had an actual garage, I hung all the grown-up bikes on the rafters by both wheels.
Basic J hook you screw into the rafter are cheap and easy.

Mine were parallel along each rafter, but this is the idea:

I have leverage in this situation and I’m seriously thinking of making the spare bedroom a bike/playroom. Guests can sleep on the couch. :Roflmao

I’m embarrassed to show my garage in its current state, but am doing this for the greater good. It houses 2 cars, 3 adult bikes, a kids bike, a gaggle of snowboards, Large rooftop cargo box, and shelves full of tools, backpacking/camping gear, and all manner of other crap. I feel like the bike hanging is crude, but it more or less gets the job done. And for perspective my car is parked in the middle while my wife is at work, so it’s all less spacious than it may look.

That's where mine are as well even though I could easily make room in my 2+ car garage. My issue is I frequently hang out inside my house with my garage door open. I don't need everybody on the planet that drives by to see my bike collection....which will increase by 1 tomorrow

No street parking for us, aside from the cleanliness there’s just too much crime with cars parked outside these days.

Argh, no. ;-) Though it's really a perfect match. It's just my favorite color, particularly on mechanical stuff (I have fly fishing reels the same color). I actually vowed never to transport the bike on the car for that reason (a silver truck performs the honor), but I did have to do it a few weeks back because my wife needed the truck for her bike. I was somewhat mortified.

I have a tiny 1? car garage, so full of stuff car lives in the driveway. But I’m lucky to be in a very low crime area.

Curious to hear feedback on this as well. I'd heard that about dropper posts, but not suspension specifically. Something about the fluids mixing or something. At least with the vertical hang and the angle of the seat post it's technically still angled up.

Here's a picture of how I store my bikes in my garage:

What, no picture? Well, that's because no garage! And no spare rooms in the house. Just a small storage closet under my stairs. Big enough for 2-3 bikes. That's a step up for me, as I stored my bikes outside for the first 12 years I lived here, under a cheap nylon cover, with some "keep-honest-people-honest" locks.

    @Cornholio - Glad I could help!

6 Never Summers and a Guerilla Gravity (soon to be 2 GG). Single handedly trying to support Colorado's economy, I see.

Nice Q3 as well (or is it a Q5 or, dare I ask, SQ5)?
