    Dahmeet! It's about time!
The Kern Council of Government (KernCOG) is distributing federal and State funds to regional projects and holding meetings throughout Kern County to develop walking, bicycling, and transit (possibly equestrian) access throughout the county.
There will be a community workshop December 15th from 6 to 8:00 pm at the Frazier Mountain Park Community Center to explore that vision, the depth of which I will find out as I plan on attending.

I envision a network to include a trail from Lebec to Frazier Park, and from Frazier Park to Mt. Pinos (Home to the famous McGill Trail). I could also envision a trail from Mt. Pinos to Pine Mountain Club. Even on a paved trail, this could be the beginning of an Epic start. The right "type" of businesses could reap huge financial rewards catering to the potential influx of tourism generated by scenic cycling. I know there has been many times Cathy and I had loaded up our bikes and traveled to Ventura to ride the Ojail trail, then go dine locally and shop local options.

As some know, I have always dreamed of a Mountain bike trail Network in my home town and have always believed it could generate additional revenue for the local community.
I know that Caveman Cavey's Pizza and Mike's Pizza can attest to that from the traffic generated from McGill Trail's use by mountain bikers.
I will keep you posted as this unfolds.

Gotta start somewhere and that sounds encouraging. The area definitely needs any kind of boost in tourism it can get. Let me know if you'd like another MTB face in attendance. My cdl still says I live there.

Like Charles Whitman and Lee Harvey Oswald, I am a USMC trained combat infantryman. 500 meters with iron sights on an M16A2 and pretty damn good with a .45 too.
    Get off my lawn!

In my mind, the trail runs past my flowering herb trees, top less maidens trimming leaves in the sun. A gentle breeze blows as the local kids chase the ice cream truck-that's playing "Purple Haze".

IT Band derailment has obviously influenced excessive vapor intake.

I hope the trails get built, but not if they're going to be 10ft wide with post fencing and wood chip paving.
    Keep us posted.

I wonder if the trail system would border Windwolves preserve. You can ride over into Frazier Park from there.
