1 minute edit of a blind run down Project X in Idyllwild.

Thinking about trying to find more trails like this and record them blind, for fun

Blind is with tape over your glasses. :p The flash is the ultimate style, no matter what the medium. Ground-up, top-down, no previewing or advance knowledge. It's a different brain skill. Immediate problem solving to success or not. One doesn't get it following another rider on an new trail. It's about the coolest game there is. And I like repeating stuff!

Protip: The quiet ones are the most badass. :geek:

I'll upload the full video later. Lots of fun stuff in there that I edited down or out.

    Of course :Roflmao

I'd think of it more as an onsight than a flash, as flash implies someone clued me into the lines ahead of time, right?

You are right. I am old. Onsight crept into the climbing lexicon years after I had flashed many leads and problems, and I/we never adopted it. Just like trad climbing. I still chuckle inside when I hear that term. That's all there was at one time. It's a bitch being crusty, dude. :gotnothing:

No previous knowledge FTW – whatever anyone wants to call it. :geek: It's a fun skill to work on, and it's aesthetically bitchin'. Good topic!

I did road race motorcycles as a hobby before this. Surprising amount of skill carryover.

I'm new to climbing as of this year, so I am still learning stuff constantly. Including how much I suck at it

There is a certain rush that comes from dropping into something without knowing what to expect. I love doing both though; hitting old trails hard and hitting new trails with apprehension.

Everything had a bypass. I used a couple. One gap double looked too big for the speed I had, and I bet I would have come up short. I repeated the trail the next day and bypassed again, though I probably would have made it fine :bang:
