It's burning between 241 and Santiago Canyon on the Irvine Lake side of Hicks Haul Rd.(bat bridge)

Maybe that Augustine area? Southside of Santiago Canyon, over by Irvine Lake? Can’t really tell

Really odd a fire could start over in that closed area.
Most likely caused by some staff or activity out there?
Looking up today had Tai Chi and Equestrian.

Looks like it started by the toll road and went over the ridge.

It was started by an arsonist, like most of them are (speculating, but confident). Wildfires are a form of terrorism.

    OK, don't blame horses.
Toll Road start means either car fire, slob smoker, or arsonist. (As long as Caltrans isn't using flares again)

In the last three weeks, I've ridden in Limestone three times. Gonna miss it.

OTH is on the other side of Santiago Canyon road

A year ago there was a fire between 241 and the canyon road too. That was really small.

I really hope they can contain it. Limestone is very pretty and still quite wild

Here is a photo from my drive home. Could see the flames on the top of the hill. Figured it was 15 minutes from the road being closed. In the canyon was completely overcast in areas .IMG_20180611_172729869_HDR.jpg

Same size as Aliso fire. Let's hope for same result. Thanks firefighters - let's get this one too!

Light winds (2 mph) and decent humidity (60%) overnight, but 10 mph, 30% and 85° by 2 pm tomorrow. Not horrible fire fighting conditions, but not optimal.

ocfa twitter: Santiago Fire: Forward progress stopped at 7:30 pm. Mapped by aircraft at 155 acres. 0% contained. Crews will remain onscene all night to extinguish remaining hotspots and improve containment lines.

    sounds like its basically out.

Saw the smoke from it when i was finishing an afetr work ride in Aliso, after passing through its burned area.

Just got an email saying Irvine Park is now closed due to this fire. I guess OC Fire has setup camp in the park.

Yeah, they are using Irvine Park as Fire Camp.....Oaks is open.

They also reopened Santiago Canyon, and the Toll Roads.
