I've been wanting to go to Tahoe for years, and especially since I started mtbiking . Well we finally planned a family getaway. We stayed in South L tahoe. Picked up some good info on STR for a shuttle ...Tahoe Rim Trail/Flume /Marlette Lake. This was my favorite of the 2 rides I did. The TRT is only available on even days of the week and reservations were recommended. The shuttle was only 15$, very organized and we had a full 14 riders. Met a great guy on the shuttle and we rode tues and thursday.
The TRT is a great trail with a couple of variations that you can choose from.

Awesome Scan! Great ride report and pictures. Knew you’d like it up there. So many great rides a few days doesn’t possibly touch enough time. You picked two pretty darn good ones for sure. Good job.

Ridden TRT/Flume a bunch of times. Wife drops me off and I get in two passes on the Flume including Red House and Marlette Peak. Great route. Julie spends the morning at Sand Harbor and I ride back down and meet with her. Stay the day and BBQ dinner there makes for a great day.

Yeah BB definitely need to go back, so many trails!! Will have to do that Sand Harbor thing next time. My family met me at Hidden beach, supposedly a nude beach! Lots of rocks, no people.

We can just sit here and talk about it and make Mikie jealous.
Here is a picture from Aug'12, just a bit higher up than you were. Just to keep your appetite for Tahoe going. It's like a crack dealer first one is free kid, now your hooked. :D

Tahoe is pure MTB heaven. Been going up there every September for a few years and it never gets old. TRT thru to Kingsbury makes for a true epic. Western States is looping fun. Hole in the Ground has got something for everyone. So many great trails....Awesome! :D

How I missed this report earlier I don't know? Thanks for the great report. I've ridden Flume but could not enjoy it fully while riding behind my 12 year old, bad bad parenting moment! TRT looks real good, of course it's all good in that heaven! People, we got's to plan a Tahoe trip!!!!! Scan the man has lit the FIRE!

After 12 summers traveling to Tahoe my favorite is coming off Armstrong Pass, to Armstrong connector, into the Corral trail system. Problem is it is a ton off work to get to the top of Armstrong Pass.

Star Lake down Cold Creek is another winner as is the X-Mas valley downhill. Always thought Mr. Toads wild Ride was not as good as the others mentioned but it gets all the play.

I'm hitting Truckee/Tahoe too h^b but on our way up to Oregon in a couple weeks! Thanks for the link to the shuttle @scan! Although I may be able to talk my wife into dropping me off at the top so she can spend the day at Sand Harbor and save the $15!

image.jpeg image.jpeg I have arrived! Alder Creek in Truckee, not sure how lucky I am yet but Michele pointed out the window while saying hey, where are they going? As the mountain bikers dove out of sight, on a trail directly accross from my rig! Sweet I tell you!
