e-biker ticketed at Whiting (pic inside)!

Not sure if any of you Hoolies do the FaceSpaceBook, but I saw this yesterday in a local MTB group.

 

Looks like an elderly guy with a disability. Wonder what he claimed ADA for.

This is f*cking awesome. Now they just gotta get the other parks to get on board.

 

I still believe that they will eventually be allowed just about everywhere. At that point, I'll tolerate it... I'll probably still give them Sh!t every now and then, though.

What I absolutely can't stand is the entitled attitude, and the mental gymnastics they go through to justify why it's ok to blow off the rules, and give a collective "F@ck You" to the parks and all the other trail users.

 

Its the attitude of manufacturers too. Mountain bikers have gone through a couple decades of fighting for access which was won on the basis that we're a passive, human powered activity. Now you have e-bikes coming in saying we're bikes too, we should be allowed everywhere normal bikes are! Try doing your own advocacy, you lazy douches.

Nice to see one of them getting a ticket.

 

Fack giving them a ticket. Impound their bike and make them walk out. Then go and pay a fee to get it out of impound.

 

Its about time some justice prevailed

 

Not sure which is more embarrassing, getting busted after a warning or officially becoming a rider of electrified bye cycles. Both while wearing circus clown shorts should be devastating. Hehe.

Great revenue source, keep up the strong work, guys.

 

I rode a short section of Backbone today. There are "no ebike" signs posted at each entrance and every junction I crossed. Of course the only other three mountain bikers I saw were on ebikes. It may be too little too late. As @Faust29 said eventually they're going to be allowed everywhere regular mountain bikes are.

I didn't think it could hit peak awesomeness, but I did have a guy coming down the 3 B's on an e-bike the other day as I was climbing. So there's that.

 

They've been climbing the Luge lately... Someone is going to get killed.

 

I recently thought the same thing.

I have not seen them out here like I did in so cal, I also have not been riding as much. I did see an electric motorcycle a few weeks back. This wasn’t an e bike but straight up electric motorcycle. He was in an area that was legal for him to ride.

 

I’d go off on someone for that. Like I have before. At night. Some people are just complete idiots and oblivious...

 

Well deserved.

 

I hope the piece of paper caries more weight than an Adventure Pass ticket

I just don't understand the utter stupidity of some people. But then again, try to navigate through a CostCo when they have free samples. It's like some people are hit with a cattle prod right between the eyes. They will stop dead, cart blocking the entire isle, and wander over to munch on some free crap. They may not even like the free crap they are eating - but hey! It's free! In the meantime their unattended cart causes a huge clusterfuck in the isle, and if you DARE to move it out of the way, they glare at you like you are trying to fondle their produce.

As I always remind my wife "self-awareness" is one of the indicators of intelligence.

It was like the e-biker who was illegally riding on Harding on Sunday. As he flew by me on the way down, he cheerfully yelled out "only one!" No f@cking kidding idiot - you're on an E-BIKE! It isn't as if I haven't been tracking you the entire ride, following your tire tracks, knowing that you are biking solo, wondering about the tread width and the tire brand, calculating your pace, evaluating how good a rider you are by the lines you took. Meanwhile he's like... duh, look! Another biker! Who would have thunk it? Dur, dur...

 

Someone posted the same picture on the SOCMTB Facebook page. The comments are very entertaining. Comments are more in favor of, than against.
