    Hokay,
So I have a friend at church who apparently bought this frameset. He is not an avid mountain biker per se.
I have not had a chance to talk to him to see if he realizes it is a DH bike as his wife spoke to Miss Cathy.

If by chance this "is" what he is looking to build, I'm sure he is on a tight budget. From the pic I was text, it looks like he has the frame and shock.

Something like this less the seatpost...

    Suggestions for a budget build?

If it's size L, tell him to buy the Banshee for $2K and sell the frame.

^^^What @HBkites just said^^^ That banshee is the best deal I've seen in a long time.

I've got a complete 2x slx drivetrain that I took off of Nicks Kona he's welcome to.

Budget builds take time. Scouting for the best deals on each part.

You need a solid $$$ figure. Then go from there. That way you can cut corners where they need to be and put money where it should be.

Other than that, I know nothing about that frame.

@Faust29 wasnlokiing a DB frame from a few years ago recently....it was stupid cheap, which would have made possible a budget build.

Unless the DB run 150mm DH rear end.

DB seems like a good value out there. I was looking at them for a minute.

If this is what he bought, I would ask him if he wants to ride the bike, or push it up hills just to coast back down. If the answer is yes...then start watching the internets for cheap parts and maybe get lucky. a 200mm fork isn't likely to be cheap.

If he says "Huh?", then tell him to sell the frame and buy a complete budget build.

Make sure he wants a DH bike, or tell him to sell it. No way to turn a DH beast into an all-mountain/trail bike.

You can't beat the Banshee deal for a real bike.
