The FS is closing down many popular *trailheads* in Sedona as well but it appears the trails may still be open?

 

I read that earlier this morning too. Too many assklowns still out there. Most folks don't care and are not taking it seriously until they themselves suffer from the infection or know someone that does and dies.

I would die a miserable man knowing that I didn't heed the warnings and infected my family and/or friends. It's just not worth it, to me.

I guess this just reinforces my decision to stay put....

My plan was to lay low until after the peak of infections anyhow...

 

Time to buy a Peloton or similar or, a treadmill, to exercise at home because this may go on longer than expected.

 

All you need is a smart trainer and Zwift. They even have mtn bikes.

Peloton is too dang expensive.

 

Don't even need a smart trainer, a decent dumb trainer and a $25-50 speed sensor. Then you get a virtual power number. I use a Kurt Kinetic trainer that I got off Craigslist for $125.

 

I can't speak for LA trails but there are of course a metric sh*t ton of people up there and everybody always looking for an escape. I know that Chantry Flats area is ALWAYS packed, at least when we ride through there on weekends. Down here further south, even on the one weekend I rode, riders (not necessarily the hikers) were actually pretty spread out other than at the top of climbs. Most people still made an effort to to at least stay away from people not in their own groups though. I can't say I saw any actual "ass-hattery" to be honest. Same place on a weekday morning = nearly deserted.

 

Glad I brought the gravel bike to the temp housing... Not that I've had any time to ride it. Maybe tomorrow morning.

 

I have a Kinetic trainer as well. HDMI cable from laptoo to 32" TV, and I'm not bored.

 

They should just close stuff on the weekends
if necessary

 

Got in a Strawberry-Gabrielino-JPL run today, before they issued the order...time to lay off the front range for a few weeks.

 

I'm still getting texts from friends of friends planning out rides for this weekend.
Doing my best to hold my tongue-Damn Scofflaws.

 

FLoop was eerily quiet today, but wide open. No closures on the FLoop proper.
