    Start off with fire road climb to warm up, then wild horse downhill, sart downhill, and then fireroad climb, to good burgers, and then: options: easy way is all downhill from there via skinny fireroad/double track and then highway to car... epic day..
    DDD version will most likely include Morton's peak and even more single track downhill...
    guaranteed solitude and wilderness riding adventure...
    just an awesome all day ride....

    Sweet! Make the route yours, and tell Chicken Nugget Sean to grow his 'stache for this again. Mamas already put the kibosh on anyting in October, so early-ish November it is...

    Hopefully I can get back to a level of fitness which means I can join this day of epicness again. I think I should be ok by early November.

    Will you consent to have soy nuggets hop on the ride at the midpoint and claim some sauce at the end?

    I think that's a feature, not a bug!

    Fingers crossed that the dark to light option might include some non-spider web trails in the light!

    The iMTBinsomniacs Club will be waving the iMTBsinglespeeders flag in Utah about the same time as this ride, so most likely this ride will occur during the day in order to avoid a solo jaunt in the bush with lions and spiders and bears (oh my). Dark (pre-sunrise) to dark (post-sunset) and sometime in between will be the timeframe.

    I haven't posted the ride location yet, thinking we were going to mix it up and possibly change locales, but it's most likely going to be SART again, as once-per-year to Wildhorse is not frequent enough to be redundant.

    Ok Nuggies! The shuttle roster so far is:
    DDD
    Dante (Coach)
    George (Borsellaack)
    Claremont HS MTB Coach
    …his son
    @konakc
    Sean (never gets tired)
    @Lost Kiwi
    @burt (ah Sh!t Mantis, here we go)

    Then, @Cyclotourist and @Sasquatch9billion plan to rendezvous with us in the bush along the way. @Tom the Bomb is pending.

    2 shuttle spots left. More than that, and y’all just have to make it to the Wildhorse trailhead at the top, and I’ll give you a ride back up at the end of the day to retrieve your vehicle.

    Bump...trying to make sure the shuttle roster is dialed and folks have a chance to reserve a spot.
    @konakc are you and Sean still in?
    @Lost Kiwi you know you do not need to be in shape to ride with me.
    @Cyclotourist and @Sasquatch9billion just checking in.

    We'll watch the weather in the next 4 weeks and be prepared to adapt ourselves or adjust the ride.

    In for the shorter chicken tender route dependent on date/time! Probably meet up @ post office if that could be coordinated.

    FYI recon on the trail is that it is in rough shape going behind Constance, Hunting Grounds, and post Morton.

    Thanks Cyclo. Rough as in “chunky and rutted” or rough as in “overgrown, tree falls, and blow-outs?”

    The latter, but mostly a lot of sloughing off the side. It was described as little more than a goat track to me. So if someone doesn't like exposure or comfortable surfing on DG, not the ride for them!

    I'm not to worried about the lack of fitness, more the lack of skill. Last time I rode with you I ended up in hospital :Roflmao

    I estimate about 2.5 to 3 hours to get to South Fork Campground and 5 to 5.5 hours to arrive at Angelus Oaks. Assuming we pedal out by 7:30am, we should arrive at South Fork Camp between 10 and 10:30am and to the Post Office between 12:30 and 1pm. We usually have lunch at The Oaks Restaurant, so if you ride to South Fork Camp by 10am or to the Post Office around 1pm, the timing should be good for a rendezvous. From Angelus Oaks, we plan to ride the Thomas Hunting Grounds to Morton Peak Trail to Hangar 24.

    @Lost Kiwi
    @burt (ah Sh!t Mantis, here we go)
    @David Cho
    Matt B. (current KOM of the Ken Prieto Figure 8)

    Then, @Cyclotourist and @Sasquatch9billion plan to rendezvous with us in the bush along the way.

    The plan is to start at 8,450', climb to 9,450', and eventually drop down to 1,550' in accordance with the red track shown here: https://caltopo.com/m/1lbbn

    We are watching the weather and will adapt and adjust as needed.

    If you decide you want in on all or part of this, post up, and we'll make it work.

    Presuming everything falls into place, I will have room in the P-Line shuttle for two (three if Firstborn lacks commitment) humans up to the post office.
