Where is this? Never heard of it. :whistling:

    Hah!

Well, good news is, at 1pm, you (we?) should have the place to ourselves, relatively speaking. Aliso is crowded on weekend mornings, but the crowds thin out after 10:30. As I mentioned in the Joplin thread, my brother will be visiting me this weekend. He rides, so we may be there for some of this. He typically can't handle more than a couple of climbs though.

Sweet! The Smeegies plans to ride for maybe 10-12 miles before the babysitter goes home, and Nate will go for about 15-20. I’ll cater to @Ocpop and follow him down CarWreck, or maybe save that for the after party if he’s already puckered up. @Redman @konakc ?

@Ocpop lemme know if you would consider wearing knee/shin guards, and I will bring you a pair so you can get the feel for that as well...not that you will require them, but 5-Oaks is 5-Oaks, so, you know...

I’m good. I have a pair. I’ve only used them one time on my San Juan trek through snowy hell couple of weeks ago. They were highly protective against poison oak.

Hahaha.... you'll know when you get it. It's not as bad as getting bit by a rattler :sneaky:but you're more likely to get it. So be sure to take a warm shower with soap after the ride to wash the oils away.

In all honesty, poison oak shouldn't be a worry at aliso.

If you get it really bad, it's a step above leprosy. I got it really bad 3 summers ago after mouse trapping on Lower Holy Jim on July 4th... It did not go away with the usual ointments, and found its way into the blood stream. It popped up all over... 30 days of steroids later and I was as good as new!

p.s. I should have pointed it out on the way up Maple Springs. The pavement section for the first three miles is loaded with it. Look for the "leaves of three" and then "let them be!". :p

There's very little poison oak in Aliso. Just along creek bottoms.

Hmmm not so much I think, @herzalot is there one at the park?. There is one a TOW though.

    Perhaps join schedule permitting.

Yeah trails in good condition including five oaks. There is trail armor on 5-O wouldn't want to catch an edge or wheel and go down on that stuff unprotected... That's me though...

Haven't ridden Car Wreck in a while...that one gets my attention.
