Chantry New Years Day

Chantry Flats.

Going to avoid Pasadena but I still want some Gabes action. 7:30am riding from the upper lot. Get there early or there will be no parking. Yes I know it will be cold. Maybe windy. Maybe ice and snow....so? Let's ride in the New Year.
Proposed route is UWC-LWC then up the Gabe to Newcomb Saddle (if possible). Maybe check out a little of the Rim trail for future reference.....return over Zion-UWC and back to the cars.
Around 20 miles, almost all singletrack. 2500ft of elev., maybe more. If the road is gated, add 6 more miles. 3 up and 3 down.

Soooooo, how was it up in the frozen San Gabeland?

 

Did a reverse Zion loop with Erik H from MWBA. Lowest temp we experienced was 28F. Jumped into the 50's for a few moments in the sun.
The trail is in great condition. 13 miles, 2900ft of elev. gain.
