I just paid AndyB to fix a software glitch,maybe the fix affected some...

did not reboot, but tried posting from laptop and cell phone. Also tried logging in via a incognito window. The forum seems to have cached the draft ride report, because when I clicked "post new thread" on my cell phone, the draft RR is populated.

 

Do you not allow img links to other sites, for example:
http://umtgriz.com/forum/2021/cuyamaca_bikepack/PXL_20210525_214720768.jpg

Works fine in preview. Everything else is text and it seems I can create a thread and post text

 

The problem source is your pics. I can’t even like the pic above. I use some add-ones and I suspect the problem is a software clash between your outside pic source and my Forum software. That is one cute ride partner!

Somehow there is a clash. The pics are crashing the thread.
Never had this happen before.

 

Is there something I should do? Or do you think it can be fixed on your side? I'm just hosting the photos on hostgator, they are just cellphone photos that I resized and reoriented in gimp.

I've been in the penguin camp since my first live CD in the 90s.

 

If you just upload them here as .jpg, .png, or .gif they will do fine.

I have thought about talking to AndyB and see if we can use an outside pic storage system but for now, internal is what I got. That ride report is precious, seriously, please load them!

Yep, run linux a lot. My first variant was Solaris 8.

 

I got this same error trying to post a new Classifieds thread. Then it said I have to wait XX seconds before posting it. Then it just went back to the same error.

 

When I first joined up, I could post pic and video clips from both my Mac and iPhone 8 with no issues. After a couple months, I couldn't post videos from either. About 3 months ago, I stopped being able to post pics from my Mac as well. For whatever reason, I can still post pics from my cell phone.

 

Can't post from flickr either... that's how I always post using cut and paste BB code.
I can still post the url for the jpeg, and add that into the image box, but that's a hassle.
I may have to request a refund of my subscription fees!

^^^ Not sure what's going on up there. I deleted attachment, and now it shows up, after getting the error.

I go to resubmit the TR post, and I get the same "unexpected error" message.

 

@Mikie could use a xenforo software update I don't know the exact version he is running, but his copyright notice is 6 years old Some of these glitches can be a result of incompatibilities between the forum software and the server host/environment, for example if you are using the same xenforo version over time, while the server host keeps updating the php version (just as one example). And depending what exactly you are doing, if you upgrade php versions, you will sometimes need to reinstall the PECL modules - which is one source of the "'imagick' not found" error in the above. But there could be lots of causes, so a little investigating under the hood will be required.

In the xenforo admin control panel you should be able to see the server error messages, or else you can go into debug mode and see what's up.

 

Yeah, that's what I found... I got an error, then it's there. Weird. Also unable to go back and edit. When I do, the error pops up when I got post. Also fun: when I tried to like your first post above, it gets an error (below). Just can't handle moving to Arkansas I suppose.

 

And now "likes" are disappearing... They show up, but are gone when the page refreshes... Ruh Roh.

 

But it’s only on the posts that have the funky pics.

Yep... And I'm having issues making new threads. I made one this morning in the Video thread, but have been unable to make two threads since.

One was a notice that today would have been Poofighter's birthday...
