Breaking news! My new smoke detector decides it will have intermittent false alarms at 3am!!!

And battery not removable....who needs sleep anyway.

 

Join the gang. Yesterday afternoon, Mr. Migraine decided to screw up my time away up in Big Bear. No sleep for me last night either. Just PAIN.

That is pretty wild as I had one in the hallway do the same thing right around 3:am just the night before! Coincidence? I think not!

Seems to me like the civil war has begun? It was a good ride.

 

My brothah, two things going down at the same time...
The fire and my Mom are back to stable. House is out of danger, she got power last Monday, their community well system is running at 50%, so things are “starting” to get back to normal.

Second thing is I put my house on the market and it sold like in light speed time. In 45 day escrow (the guy wanted a 20 day escrow ).
I have been working non stop, updating for appraisal and code inspection. The last time I saw my bike was the ride up at Camp Nelson. I’m “hoping” to get back on the bike by Labor Day. One major project left to build a closet in one of the bedrooms I converted to an office when I had my Construction company. So life sucks and life is wonderful all at the same time.

 

Awesome! Happy for you, really! You are out just in the nick of time! You pretty lucky!

 

Surely you are taking your mom with you or she can’t be far behind?

 

She is debt free with money in the bank and Sister lives next store and can not figure where they want to escape to yet. I think my mom is going to bunker down. But it may get to where we run a rescue operation down the road.

Kinda looks like one of the extra credits towards the beginning. Based on the view when they finally fly away.

The injured rider must have had something critical going on because they seemed like they were in a hurry to get going.

 

Wow, that seemed way more urgent once they hooked onto the gurney than my experience. They just pulled me up slowly to a hovering chopper. No forward momentum while hoisting and no medic on my side. I'm thinking this guy was actually injured and not just slightly battered. Prayers for a full and speedy recovery.

 

I was going to say "I think you meant 'hunker down'", but realizing we're talking about SoCal, perhaps "bunker down" is more appropriate

 

Based on the drone LOS data, the accident occurred at 2255'. So pretty close to the Luge trailhead... within a mile or so on the approach side (probably in that little saddle area(?)).

 

I was wondering why they would film it with a drone. Other than the cool factor it may be recorded for training purposes, which could also explain them not taking the rider up to the skids.

 

Looks like it’s on the top, right before that last loose downhill section which leads to the flag hill

 

That's the end of 2nd Extra Credit on the Way to the Luge... weird ... nothing terrible there although there can be some funky ridges etc... but we all know... it can happen anywhere.
