And miss her 2nd grade play?! Not a chance. She was the best damn rabbit in a paper costume in a 2nd grade play the world has ever seen! Maybe even the best woodland creature!

The lockdown was announced at about 7:20 am, when many kiddos were already on buses. No real threat to the school, but when officers are chasing fugitives near an elementary school, a lockdown is warranted. Law enforcement had the situation stabilized by 9:00 am. Half the kidlets were already at school. Mine was not, as we got word of the lockdown right before she stepped on the bus. Neighbor took her to school after the lockdown was lifted. The show must go on!

 

I know about lockdown, my wife is a 3rd grade teacher and has had several of them. But as you said the play must go on!!

Just wondering, the next time the Union negotiates a contract for you, how does the Union get paid if everyone elects not to pay them?
Or when you get fired unjustly, who fights for your job when the Union has no paid members?

Honestly, the union can suck eggs. I don't need them. I don't want them. I don't expect them to negotiate for me. They can't seem to wrap their tiny brains around that. All they do is restrict my ability to do stuff.

Sounds like it's on the north side of the creek, but man, the community of Forest Falls is in a box canyon and only one way out. I hope there are no stubborn "I'm going to stay and save my home" people there!

We may not see eye to eye on much - apart from riding bikes, but I just shake my head when I see unions become worse than the "oppression" they were formed to protect against.

This is the perfect time to remind the congress, the president, and the courts that the 18th amendment was repealed by the 21st, and that no other power to prohibit anything has been granted to congress since then. Prohibition has never been c0nstitutional. Remind your congresscritter early and often of this fact.

And lest anyone misunderstand, I don't think it's a good idea to smoke the herb unless it fixes something for you. But I will defend to the death your right to ingest what you wish. With the corollary that you are responsible for the actions you commit while impaired....

 

It's not quite that simple. Work in a school and you will see the complexities. FWIW, I tend towards Libertarianism myself, but unlike most, I understand the social contract "for we are locked together here in this bittersweet embrace."
