Was adding a little fresh sealant in my tires last night and noticed this on the rear XR3. Looks like it's coming apart right where the label is. Maybe just the label peeling off? Sealant is seeping through in a few spots along the line. Anyone ever have something like this happen with the Bontrager tires? Ride it or replace it?

If there is no seam on the inside of the tire, ride it! If there is a seam on the inside of the tire, replace it by taking it to a Trek dealer and asking if they can warranty it. Tho it looks like you rubbed it pretty good along the sidewall.

I've had leakage here and there on the sidewalls. Nothing major. I like those tires alot.

Not seen anything like that on several sets of Bonty tires I ran/run. If a rear tire, I'd stress test it on the most wicked chunk I could find : ) If it dies, Trek is good to work with I've heard.

I’d swing by a Trek store and have them take a look at them. I’d be disappointed if my 4 month old tires looked like that.

Ive seen this happen with other tires before.

I was able to get a replacement tire for it when it happened to me through my LBS.

Needed a few other things so I ran by the Trek dealer. The tech said he had never seen that happen before and offered to see if he could get Trek to warranty it for me. I left the tire there and will see what happens.

I say ride it so you can walk back home this time instead of me :D Then again, you don't want thing coming apart in the middle of flying down the JEM Trail.

Well, good news. The tech shot me an e-mail and Trek already approved the warranty claim. New tire will be here this week.

Nope, keeping the 2.4 XR3/XR4 combo. It works really well.
