Bikes found in SART bunker

The picture looks like mostly junk bikes, but I wonder how many quality bikes were stolen and ended up here. The article says 1,000 bikes were found.

"The makeshift bunker beneath a recently-displaced Fountain Valley homeless encampment was big enough for a grown person to stand inside, replete with wood-paneled walls and a support beam, and accessible only via a small hatch camouflaged to blend in with its dirt surroundings.

The half-loaded .357 Magnum found near the same camp, along the Santa Ana River, contained three empty shell casings – meaning it had been fired.

And the 1,000 bicycles discovered hidden away in the flood-control channel’s dark tunnel system could suggest a large-scale theft ring."

 

Up near the Big A, there was a pile of bikes for weeks. I'd guesstimate over 200 just piled up

 

If they find a 59cm Salsa La Cruz, 90% chance it's mine!

Before they were in the tunnel, they were in the riverbed. We drove by the pile one time while working.
I made my partner stop. An amazing pile of cheap steel.
I don't think anything high end ends up in the pile. Too easy to flip for meth money.
