Bikepacking from Millard to Mount Pacifico

May 16-17 Third annual
Last couple of years I had to do it alone. People always showed interest but for one reason or another they couldn't make it.
The planed route is... Up Mount Lowe Rd to Eaton Saddle, from there take Mount Wilson Rd to Red Box, Angeles Crest Hwy To Shortcut Saddle, then pick up Silver Moccasin (that will be the hardest part). Last year the first part was pretty overgrown and the climbing part was very loose. When you make it up to Charlton Flats it feels pretty nice, we'll continue on to Chilao via Silver Moccasin. Stop at Newcombs Ranch for a juicy burger and some cold brews. After that I believe it's 10 or 12 miles to Mnt Pacifico.
Food wise you just need to pack lunch for the first day (which will be eaten on the trail) and breakfast for the second day.
On sunday we'll just backtrack the route. It will be a lot easier.

What kind of milage are you talking? Where are you sleeping?

 

We're talking about 40 miles each day. The first one being the hard one with close to 6K of climbing.
Last year I slept at Chilao. The next morning got on my bike and rode to mnt Pacifico. Came back to camp ate my breakfast, packed and rode back to my car. This time I'd like to overnight at top of the world Mount Pacifico CG.
