Please don't burn our Skyline!

 

We'll be camping up there , plan to ride thurs and friday!! 6/22,6/23

 

I'll be riding Skyline this saturday. More like ripping it.

 

How's the air quality up there?

 

You might be evacuating it!

Always check IMTB first for trail conditions!!!
It's on the opposite side of the lake from Skyline, but I bet the air could be really bad. :-(
If it gets knocked down quickly, maybe not a problem, but any closer to the weekend, and there could be a lot of lingering smoke I would think.

 

From everything I've read, the wind is blowing away from the lake, east and northeast. We'll be up there tomorrow late afternoon, let you know what the air is like.

It's burning towards the top of the Pioneertown Ride.....complete opposite direction of Big Bear Lake.

 

We're going up there later today. El Jim, who lives up there texted me a pic that looked good. He said there was no smoke in the lake area and the mountain. The wind has been blowing to the north east , so, so far so good. Plan to ride thurs and friday. Keep you posted on the conditions, hopefully they will remain good. For you Friday riders, come on up and lets get some Skyline or Hanna flats/Grey peak!!

 

Tents are up, it's great up here. barely tell there's a fire!!!

It's beautiful. You wouldn't even know there's a fire. Last I heard 60% contained

The fire is/was at the north end of the area. Going up 18 from the desert, you could still see a bit of smoke rising from one of the remote canyons just west of the 18. Coming back down yesterday evening, you couldn't even see that. But, there were still fire crews in the area. If there had to be a fire in the area, this was one of the least impactful places to have one, at least from my perspective.

 

Well the wind kept everything away from the lake!! It made all the difference for sure!
