Hey everyone!

Its Ben here. 34 years old from Palm Bay, Florida. A bike enthusiast. It's kind of a hobby of mine and I have also worked for several years in a cycles/bikes retail store so I know a thing or two about bikes. I'm excited to be a part of this great community and I look forward to contributing and making some new friends.

Welcome Ben! What kind of mountainbiking do you have in Palm Bay Fl area? I just think of sand Post up some ride reports with pics, would love to see! I think we have an expat Floridian on the site too. Cheers

I lived near Kissimmee for almost 15 years... But was not into biking at the time. I was too busy eating Caribbean food.

 

It's taking every ounce of restraint I have not to reply to that

Love to see some trail pics of Florida as well. Do you ever encounter gators on the trail?

Well now...::.isnt that interesting.

So he has worked in bike shops and knows about bikes.....yet he claims that his bike of choice is a POS Wallyworld bike?

I'm cautiously thinking we are being played.

 

@mtnbikej 100% Can't figure out what the payoff is though. Why go to this much effort? Maybe a long con, but just not so very subtle.

 

He has actually replied to posts on the other forums, and they did not look like robot responses, or a non-native speaker. My guess is we'll start seeing ads for phantom merchandise, similar to the people who post ads in every market on CraigsList.

 

I'm going to got out on a limb and say that he is an importer/eBay/Amazon sellers for those bikes.....and we are about to be spammed.

Like I said above, a LBS employee would not be riding a low end department store bike, especially when you have access to better deals on real bikes. Sorry, just the truth.....ask anyone on this board who work in shops.

 

Plus, he registered, posted at 2:57 then logged out at at 2:59. Sensing alterior motives.

 

Is his bike of choice intended as irony? My best friend moved to FL and he rides mtbs. Well, he used to. Now he rides a road bike. When it's not disgustingly humid ... Never mind.

Well the fact that he joined a UK Roadie forum raises major flags.

 

He is a traveling dental equipment salesman with a very large territory, seeking riding friendships for his many destinations. He has a penchant for single track, but also likes long morning walks on the beach.

 

I think we scared him off!!!

 

Like any true "salesman," he will likely not forfeit his tremendous investment in IMTBT. He'll be back – in a form that will make him lynch-worthy. Get the rope ready.

Ben Dover, you earned it... Mikie's henchmen are not to be truffled with. We play in the dirt all the time, so playing dirty is second nature. Or...you can buy a mountain bike and start riding and posting. In that order.
