Having a Stone Tangerine IPA after putting the baby to sleep, while the wife is on bedrest, catching up on the grocery Monopoly game, in charge of the baby monitor, and watching the recap of the DH race I missed last Sunday.

Herz this has been a welcome break to the craft scene back home. Out here you drink what the local brewery makes or what is the beer of the region. No ifs ands or buts.

On a related note, a coworker on this trip tried to explain hoppiness to our german counterparts after complaining about kölsh. They told me to never bring her back again.

Came across these at Trader Joes for $.63 a bottle... hard to pass up! Ended up buying four cases so far, just in case.

They call it a hoppy lager, and I guess that's a pretty good description. Not super hoppy though, just right. A fine light summer brew!

While I am a fan of many Ballast Point brews, this weekend I have been enjoying the "mango even keel".

Why would you ban IPA?
Because it's stronger than the "fizzy yellow beer" you like?

 

Stronger beer that's extremely bitter makes you a more manly man, I guess. IPA guys seem to measure their worth in "bitterness" units.

Belgians and Germans disagree.

My point is that IPA is so ridiculously trendy and hipster, it seems you have to like it to be considered cool. Your comments exemplify that sentiment.
