Like the title says....

Up Coal Canyon, across Main Divide, down Motorway, back up Blackstar, out to Sierra Peak and down Coal Canyon.

High temps in Silverado on Sunday are about 87.

Still have to work out the ride duration. I might have to make a water drop out there, unless we don’t pass the Silverado market til after 9am.

You will need a light that will last about 3 hrs.

Facilities: Pffffft. Porto potty at the bottom of Motorway.

With all the recent Coal Canyon enthusiasm (is that an oxymoron) I assume its not too sandy at this time ?

 

Nope....only about 200’ of softness.

 

I really want to do one of these but I would have to plan my weekend around it. It would be funny leaving my motel to go on a ride just as other people are going to bed.

 

Not in the cards for me this weekend but I'd love to do this with you guys. It'd be all new dirt for me even though i wouldn't be able to see it. Sleep is way overrated and I can catch up some other time. Got a new machine coming to the shop on Monday and I'm not ready for it and have to move a couple to make room so I gotta stay local and deal with . I've got a couple solo dawn patrol rides on my menu for the weekend though that'l get me back early. Strangely enough my wife wishes I'd get up at midnight and go ride with you guys cause she thinks the local cat that keeps getting talked about is gonna single me out.

 

You should really listen to your wife on this one.

Jason just got home. Me thinks, by the way he speaks, that they did not beat the heat.

We survived... one of us was in limp mode for the last 20 miles, but hung in there. No SAG wagon needed.

We knew that beating the heat up Black Star was the questionable part... I saw 103 before the top. I think it actually got a little hotter going across Sierra Ridge. The 84 at the RV park felt like winter.

 

Maybe they should have left earlier...
