Oye, thanks for the heads up. It just looks generally smokey/hazy out there, no 2000 ft headers of smoke, so I guess that's a good sign.

Sounds like they stopped all forward progress on this one, and no structures were ever threatened.

The "29" in my user name comes from August 29th, 1984. The year that young Faust got his first hole-in-one. :whistling: Top-Flite XL #3 FTW... 9 iron- 155 yards.

Didn't I mention that possibility in the "pedal strike" fire thread? I thought I was joking. Apparently not.

And @Faust29 155 yds with a 9-iron is pro material.

Every fire I hear started by a golf strike I figure is an excuse for a cigar ash. Maybe I'm just cynical. Aren't most of the dry brush areas out of bounds?

Testosterone fueled teenager... If I had ever learned to putt better than a caveman, my 2 handicap would have been lower! :whistling:

I heard the helicopters in that general direction today... Maybe going back and forth between there and Holy Jim area? It looks like the Arroyo-Trabuco Trail is still open? I haven't ridden down that far in a long time...

No, not always out of bounds. But I too have my doubts that the spark of a golf club could ignite a fire. Same with a pedal strike. What's next, horse shoe spark on a rock? The tip of a walking stick? A violent sneeze?

Arroyo Trabuco is still open, the fire was on the other side of the golf course. I rode the section between Crown Valley and the golf course yesterday. However, the East Ridge road/trail (which seems to have served as an excellent firebreak in some places) is closed. I do not know the extent of the closure or the time frame. Yesterday there were signs where the climb begins on Cecil Pasture by the dog park that said it was closed, but that may have been until the there was no more fire danger. There were crews on top of the ridge yesterday afternoon looking for flare-ups.
