i go up rockit occasionally, on weekday mornings. The only really hard part of the climb is the long rock garden, i just HAB that. Its the easiest way up, IMO. Sure as heck wouldnt do it during prime time.

@Grassblade23 Rock-It is a fairly pleasant climb. I can clean the rock garden in terms of riding it all, but I have always had to stop for fear of exploding. The rest of it is low gradient and quite nice, for a climb. You do have to be wary of guys like me bombing down.

Sounds like I'll have to wander over there early on a weekday. Thanks for the info.

The newly designed and unsafe Meadows Connector now has a 'Walk Bikes' sign.

Yep, I didn't notice it when we dropped in on Sunday and got an earful from a guy that was walking on the steps.

We didn't see the sign either until we reached the other end...narrowly avoided a collision in the blind spot at the bottom. Several runners were doing laps up and down the stairs, add in bikes and pedestrians that were walking side by side, one on the path and one on the stairs created a huge mess.

Yes, the blind spot is ridiculous. I don't walk my bike, but I ride slowly until I am certain there is nobody on the other side of the blind spot. It's far more dangerous now, in my opinion.

I thinking I am going to propose it works like a locks on the Erie canal fill up one side let the peeps through ... Then fill up the other side and let the peeps through...

Ok so that's not exactly how the locks work but you get my point....

Did we quit when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?....

And the irony is that the land was privately owned, but as I hear it, the owner loved seeing mt bikers out there and he left the land to the city in his will with the provision that it will always be open to mt bikes or something like that. Not sure if this is all true or not, but I guess 'walking bikes' is still access, but would be interesting to see the legal documents on this.

Meadows was so bad last time I rode it that I noticed some asshats had created a new straight line on the far right bypassing about five turns. Unfortunately this new STRAVA line was more visible - and thus more tempting - than the trail proper. I hope that hasn't gotten worse in the past month.

Yeah @herzalot I saw that line... almost confused me.. but I know the trail Snakes.

Yes if it what I think it's there and seems noticeable it looked like a fairly straight line from apex to apex

Hikers.....I know we like to blame ourselves and Strava, but I find that a lot of these types of lines are hikers cutting the trail. After a few have tromped through the brush, the lemmings just start to follow.

I'd like to shift blame there, but not from what I saw. Could be e-bikes though....

Someone trimmed back the vegetation. Thank you. The trail rode much, much better today. The new shortcut line down the right side of the trail is still highly visibly and highly ridden.
