After what happened here this afternoon I think its safe to say AT is washed out!

Lol, So do pics! I used to live in ground zero of the flood zone, always knew it was coming! I'm sure my bank got hit hard! I hope my girls are alright!

Oh for heavens sake, you were on a computer/device and you couldn't start typing A-C-T-O-N into Google? Half way through typing it and things like "Acton flooding" appear with plenty of pictures and videos. Quit trying to act so old and incompetent!

 

Clearly my self deprecation mashed up with internet habits of the slovenly didn't come through with the humor intended. See it's funny because people always say "pics or it didn't happen" yet this was a public event that is well covered... So I'm at a computer and yet... oh never mind.

Yes - I completely understand that the flood happened and there is a lot of coverage of it. Just messin' around here.

With being slammed with work, and monumental family problems, my riding it next to nothing, and has been for quite some time. I know we all go through a riding lull from time to time,of which I accept, but this time it could be extended, as there is a good chance I may be raising another child at 56! No, my wife is not pregnant. This thing we call life is a long steep, and very technical rocky climb for us! I think I'm going to need some tailwinds!

Went into town today knowing most of the roads would be cleaned up by now to take some pics.
I have lived in Acton for about 26 years now so I pretty much know what happens when a strong storm hits in town and surrounding areas, one thing is ,don't drive on any of the roads off the 14 cause they are prone to Flood! Crown Valley road is basically a wash in the middle of town, it's all down hill and the water runs it pretty fast right into town. There are also surrounding wash networks that end up in town. Most of the commercial buildings were built up on foundations at least 3 to 4' high, but there are homes that were not!
All I can say is it must have been pretty damn scary there! I watched the clouds build to a eerie black black mass from Santa Clarita, as I was driving into it I started worrying , luckily by the time I got home it had already lost it's energy. But the hole area was a parking lot. Palmdale people depend on all of the roads through Acton but they were mostly unusable.









The pics above is a storage yard, I could not believe the new owner decided to make it that. Always been a nice sized lake in the winter, he thought he would just clear a couple of drains and just pump it out, while driving by I've though to myself, dumb ass.

Yikes. Well so much for my wish that it didn't seriously impact personal property. I hope Mr. Storage Yard is well insured. Most people do not buy specific flood insurance, and I am guessing if he built in known bottom land, he may have had a hard time getting an affordable policy.

Oh and @SnakeCharmer - not ruined, sorry. I can take some old age jokes, even though I'm younger than 1/3rd of the people on this site.

 

This trailer came from somewhere else and got parked here, along with most of the storage containers like the one that crushed the RV.
