Alright! Who is going! lol! Well. Not me. But I thought I would post it for others. I'm sure the Veterans received their invites by now!

I intend on going. I might have an issue with Mother's Day the 14th. I haven't discussed it with the boss yet.

Provided everything falls into place, it will be next year for me. I celebrated my 32-year anniversary at UPS yesterday. I'm hoping to make time to do some of these away trips.

 

On the bucket list. Maybe next year for me.

I have my eye on two rides this year and they both have spousal approval and support. A third request might move the marriage bliss needle in the wrong direction.

I did checked out the ride report from 2019, and the pics are epic.
Looking back my overall impressions are great views, hard riding, cold night!

 

5 1/2 years out, I believe.

However I maximize my benefits in 2 1/2 years. If I can get family health care for a reasonable price, I could go then.

 

Everything is pointing to retirement in 352 days....so I can't make it this year, dang it.

 

The boss said I was good to go so I signed up for trip 2. May 11-14.

I am going week 1 this year, sorry I'll miss you Steve.

 

I am cancelling Kokopelli tomorrow. I re-injured my knee climbing the awkward HAB sections of San Jaun halfway through my ride. I did achieve my goal to ride to Cocktail Rock and I didn't quit when I knew I injured my knee again. I don't know how many spots are open but I'm out. I can't see riding Kokopelli being an injured recovering rider. I'm just as good as I was last month and can ride as of today but there it is. It would be unfair to Alex Hearn, me riding by myself without (you) to back me up or help me out riding out in the field. I still say I can do the ride but I am compromised as a fit rider. Hope this makes sense. Trip 2

Well.. what do you do? There is a spot open. I still intend to ride. I can push down on the pedals. Twisting my knee is another story.

Sorry to hear this but you made a wise decision Steve. I had to make the same decision a couple years ago(2021 I think) due to some health issues I was having. Sucked not going and losing a fair chunk of money but trying to do the ride at less than 100 percent and getting hurt or collapsing would’ve sucked more.

Hey @Voodoo Tom my stretch goal for getting back on the bike after hip replacement surgery (Thursday 3/2!!) is to do Koko in 2024, would love to ride it with you and TTB and the gang. Lets put it out there and start getting some rides in yeah?

 

You are gonna have to do a lot of convincing to get me on this one! I won't rule it out though

No need- Bikerpelli has at least 2 kegs on trail each night.

 

Just not a big fan of sharing the Sh!t bucket with 100 others.
I got spoiled traveling and staying with Hillbilly in 4-5 star condos

 

I wasn't worried about the fitness at all before I went. I had nightmares, though, about the buckets!

In reality, they set up several buckets separate from each other well away from camp, and the views are impossible to believe. The buckets were not an issue...
