Hey DDD... If my application to this ride falls through, is there any chance you can pull a few strings and get me into the other ride on that day?

In all fairness to @buggravy , the first year we did this ride, it took both of us navigating to keep from getting lost. I’m sure he’ll do fine.

If not, there will be some verbal abuse... :D

For the 2016 version, neither of us had ever ridden out there. It was an adventure from start to finish. We’ll try to duplicate that for you. :p

We were so turned around, we didn’t realize we parked, literally, on the finish line. :D

Anybody want to do some training laps for this? I've got 2 rides local to me in mind, and I think a ride buddy or few would help keep the motivation going. A Cheese/New Millenium combo, and Backbone from Mishe Mokwa to Corral Canyon and back. Each would be good for about 45 miles and 7000+. I'd like to do 2 so that WW50 isn't more of a shock to the system than it will inevitably be. Since the clock is ticking I'd like to do one soon (maybe Labor Day weekend), and the second one in early October. Flexible based on weather and plans of anyone interested. If a Cannell or other full day ride surfaces that would probably have to take the place of the second one, due to hall pass allocation. I'm also open to travel if someone else has another longer ride suggestion. Any interest?

I would like to do one or both, @buggravy. For the Mishe Mokwa to Corral we started at Encinal and went east to Corral then came back to Encinal for refueling then did the Mishe Mokwa leg. It worked out great.

Cool, I’ll keep you posted. I thought about that approach to Backbone as well, and would be totally cool with that.

I’d pick a route that lets you practice pushing your bike... You’ll be doing a lot of that in the very beginning and again at mile 30 something. :D

I practiced the West Horsethief HAB before Vision Quest and it paid off. Almost an hour of pushing...
