Ride Name: 2018 Winter Solstice(ish) Blackstar Ride
    When: Tuesday December 18th
    Time: 5:30 pm
Where: Xmas Tree Farm on Blackstar Canyon Rd
    Ride Description or Details:
Continuing in my new old tradition of doing the solstice and equinox rides, let's ride for the winter solstice.
The actual solstice is Friday afternoon evening, but we'll celebrate on Tuesday night. Most of us probably have holiday parties on Friday and Saturday. And, I also have some on Wednesday and Thursday - so Tuesday it is.
Meet next to the tree farm with a go time of 5:30 by Garmin or Verizon.
Let's make a goal of meeting at the top about 7:30. If you are faster or slower you can adjust your start time or even location (Skyline for the 909ers?)
Sunset is at 4:45 pm and so we will be in the dark the whole time.
Lights will be needed. (except those who like to do without) The moon phase will be between first quarter and full.
BYO libations for the top or the end back at the cars.
    ?'s - Ask away.
Invite others, let's make it a party.

If it's too wet and/or too rainy I might move to maple Springs to 4 Corners or my couch.

I will be there too. I rode with my son who's 22 years old up Blackstar today. It was his first time. He made it within a mile of Beeks and had enough. I didn't push.

It sprinkled just a little bit at my house today, can't imagine much more at BStar.
Doesn't even look like it will be all that cold.
Hopefully, everyone going can make it all the way up.

I'll definitely be there... but I can't drink because I have a physical Wednesday AM. Plenty of water, but no food or drink allowed :(

Elevation gain probably closer to 2200'. Tomorrow night 78% lunar illumination :)
